Day 4
Monday December 22, 2008

Today we started our day at the Fitness Center here at Harrah’s. I’m not a big work out person but I like to use the treadmill and work off some of those comped meals I’ve eaten! Dee works out on a regular basis and being diamond gets me free access to the club here. The prices are actually cheap here at $10 for non-hotel guests and $5 for hotel guests but I still saved $10 for the 2 of us by being diamond. This room is much smaller and doesn’t have all the perks many of the larger Las Vegas Fitness centers have but it does the trick.

Once we got cleaned up after the gym we had a late breakfast at the Beach Café using the coupon they sent me for $50 in food here. I had the Complete Breakfast. It is 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, hash browns, and a choice of bread. I went with an English muffin. We also got a fruit platter to share and ordered some cake to eat later on to burn up this coupon. Terri was our server and the service was really good. So, on the $50 coupon I got our bill up to $49.80 after beverages. After they removed the tax it was a little lower though but still a good use of the comp.

After eating we went to the room to relax. Dee was shot from staying up so late and getting up really early this morning. In fact, she’s napping away right now as I type this!

When Dee awoke from her siesta we went down to the casino. Today I planned on playing some video poker. I wanted to give this place some decent action today since yesterday I didn’t really do much at all. I played the 50-play jacks or better nickels. I did well here playing for over an hour on my original $100. One key hand was being dealt a full house. Another was being dealt 4 to a royal. I was lucky enough to pull a royal on lines 2 & 9. I was happy to hit some royals. I really need to hit some at the quarter level though. I’m under royalled for the year so far and need a big come back this week. I ended this session up $200 for my first winning session of the trip on video poker.

When we were done playing it was time to go do some shopping. Dee wanted to go to the Watchman at the riverside and we also wanted to go to a few stores over on the Arizona side of the river.

We had to come back to the room to get ready for dinner. Tonight we had a 7pm reservation for Range Steakhouse to use my birthday offer. The coupon was good for up to $85. We were seated in the lower section near the windows and had a view of the river. I ordered the 8oz filet a giant baked potato. When they say giant, they mean giant. This thing was easily the size of 3 normal potatoes. Dee had the smaller filet and a spinach salad and it was outstanding. The birthday offer also came with a special crème brulee. At the end of the meal they bring chocolate truffles. This was my first visit here but I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again (if it were comped). The food was great and the service excellent. The entire total bill was $90.

After dinner we played a bit more. I hit the 50-plays again. I wasn’t getting very many dealt winners this time but did manage quite a few quads, but not enough to survive. I lost the $200 I was up this morning.

Next up I joined Dee and played a few penny slots. I was doing ok on these like I usually do. I started losing until I hit a bonus round on a machine that paid me almost 10,000 coins.

While we were playing I noticed on my slot card that I had 16,666 in comps and 13,666 in tier score. I also had my credit meter at 6,666, and a few other totals in a short time full of sixes. I decided to go to the roulette wheel and plop $10 on the 6. Instead 25 came up and I wanted to cry since that is my birthday.

After we were done playing we came back to the room and hopped into the Jacuzzi, because we could and then called it a night and went to bed.

Total win/loss for the day $50
Total comps for the day $197
