Day 10
Saturday December 23, 2006

I got up at about 11am this morning after getting a good night’s sleep. I haven’t had very many of these this trip for some reason. After getting ready I made some plans with Mike to meet at the El Cortez for lunch.

The first thing I did when I got here was to get a slot card since I’ve never had one before. I also got a fun book with the coupon in the ACG. This is a pretty good fun book with $5 free food, $5 free play, $5 match play, free drink and a few other things.

I used the free play on VP and lost it in just a few minutes. I also played a little bit to run some coin through the machines to see what mail, if any I get. I ended up losing $20 here.

Dawn (Rich was sick, and that really sucks on vacation) arrived and then shortly after Mike got there. We all went to lunch at the coffee shop at El Cortez. Mike had a $50 coupon for food and $50 goes a LONG way here. I tried the Mr. Porterhouse and it comes with soup or salad, potato and vegetable. I took the cream of vegetable soup which was really good and the mashed potatoes. The food here is good and the prices are more than fair. Between the 3 of us we got the bill to $49 and change so pretty much maxed it out.

After lunch I played my $5 match play and got dealt A-7 against a dealer 8. I took a hit and got a 7 for 15. I hit again and got a 5 for 20. He dealer turned over a 7 for 15 and took a 9 for the bust and a winner for me!

Since Mike was leaving in the morning this was the last time we would see him so we said good bye to him and all headed our own ways. I came back here to the Hard Rock and took a short break and then hit the casino for a little more craps action.

The table started out ok. Shooters were hitting a few numbers and I was quickly up a few hundred. Then it went bad. It was just like at Silverton the other day and seven was the common number. I got my dick kicked here and moved to another table when it opened.

I was the only shooter at this table for a while and I wasn’t doing too bad. It wasn’t great though but I was holding my own. Finally the table started filling up a little bit more and we had some other shooters. I was pretty much at the same level for a few hours before things went bad. Five or six shooters in a row went number, number, out and just killed me. That’s when it finally happened. A girl held the dice for close to 20 minutes hitting point after point and repeating numbers one after another. Before long I was close to being even again and then I was ahead. When she finally went out I was up for the night after a roller coaster ride. I was going to quit after this roll but it as my turn to shoot. I did ok and hit a few points but then hit a seven. I was still up after my roll and cashed out with a small $300 but I was happy to have won after how bad it was earlier in the night. It was now almost 4:30am and I had been playing for over 9 hours! That was a fun night!

I hadn’t eaten since lunch with Mike and Dawn so I went to Mr. Lucky’s and got some chicken fingers. Service was slow in here tonight but the food was as good as it usually is.

Total win/loss for the day $300
Total comps for the day $272
