Merry Christmas

Today is my birthday and where else would I be but in my favorite place at my favorite casino. I don’t usually make much of a big deal of my birthday and this year was no different. I was still trying to beak the birthday hex I’ve had for years when it comes to winning on my birthday. I just can’t seem to do it.

I finally got up around 2pm and hit the tables around 2:30. This table was pretty good right from the beginning. I bumped up my bets about ½ way through the session and it did start to turn bad. I was up $2000 at a high point. Things smoothed out and I was going to quit but I was 2 shooters away from shooting. I haven’t been shooting well but wanted to try. I did ok on this roll but couldn’t get past the hump. I colored up after my roll and finished up with a $1500 win. So far I’m up on my birthday but it’s still early.

For dinner I had a reservation at Fuego at Fiesta Henderson with Rich & Dawn and Anne & Steve. We all like this place and have never had a bad meal here. About the only thing I’ve ever had that was bad here was the soup during Mike’s birthday dinner in October. We had a reservation at 7pm and all was taken care of by my host here. Rich and Dawn got slammed with the flu and couldn’t make it so it ended up being just 3 of us. I had my usual filet mignon medium rare. As always here it was perfect. After all of these years I’ve never had a bad meal here.

When we were done with dinner we tried our luck with video poker. Putting it mildly, there was no luck. I was playing $1 bonus poker and dropped over $400 before I even hit a full house. I didn’t hit any quads and dropped $500. After this Steve and Anne left and I tried some $1 DDB. This machine was just as bad but I finally hit a quad to get back into it a little. By the time I was done I dropped $700 playing video poker and barely had $5000 coin in.

Next up was some black jack to play a $50 match play they sent me in the mail. I was dealt a 5 against a dealer 7. I ended up taking two hits of 10 and busting. I’d like to thank the loser next to me that held his 15 against her 7. Had he hit I would have ended up with a 21. I also played the LVA $25 match play. This hand I was dealt a 14 and busted it out. As always I’m very bad when it comes to winning on coupons. I had $30 in chips left so I played 1 hand of $30. I was dealt a pair of 9’s against a dealer 4. I split and got another 9 so re-split. I got a 5, 4, & 4 for a 14, and two 13’s. The dealer flipped over a 10 and promptly dropped an effing 3 on it as I lose another $90. This trip to Fiesta was not good as I dropped more than half of what I won this morning. I ran my ass right out of here and came back to the Hard Rock.

I took a short break up in the room and then hit the craps table again. This table was good from the beginning and other then a few bumps in the road every shooter hit a few numbers. I was quickly up and remained up the entire time. After about 4 hours I cashed out with a $3100 win.

It was now close to 3am and I hit the coffee shop for something to eat. I tried the BBQ Chicken pizza. It was a little unusual and not what I was expecting. Instead of pizza sauce it had BBQ sauce and the chicken was plain. It was tasty but not what I was in the mood for though. It was good and very filling since there was a lot of chicken on it.

I finally quit for the day at about 3:30am and finished the day a winner for the first time in years on Christmas day. Not only was I a winner, it was one of my biggest winning days ever!
