Day 9

Dining:
I started off my day with a quick lunch at the California Snack Bar. I only had a cheese dog and a coke and was back on my way over to Main Street Station to start playing!

Dinner tonight was supposed to be at the Las Vegas Hilton Steakhouse with Anne and her mother but they left town for the holidays and aren’t going to make it back in time to go there. Instead I went to the buffet here at Main Street Station. I think this buffet has gone way downhill since I first had it years ago. The service kind of sucked tonight too. My server was clearing my dishes each time I got up but didn’t refill my drink until I was ready to leave.

Gaming:
I decided to take a shot with some 8/5 bonus 5 play 10 coin machines. This is a very streaky game but the payoff can be huge. The streaks can be killers. This machine wasn’t too bad. I was getting a fair amount of dealt winners and drawing enough quads to keep alive. My best hand was being dealt quad 10’s for 1250 coins. Of course the streakiness of the game kept that from being a huge win. I was only up a bit. I played a little longer and went up and down. I finally hit a bonus quad (4’s) and cashed out with a $7.50 win plus 11 scratch cards.

After a short break I tried my luck with some 50-cent video poker. This really sucked as I blew through $300 and didn’t hit 1 quad.

Next up was some craps. This was also a waste of time. The table was ice cold and I was losing like crazy. I started betting the dark side and then a shooter got hot. I switched back to the pass line and then got whacked again. It hasn’t been a good day as I dropped $500 on the craps table.

After another break I met up with Rich and Dawn and played the slant top 9/6 jacks machines. I dropped yet another $100 here in record time. I don’t know how it’s possible to drop $100 in less than 30 minutes playing jacks or better but I managed to do it today.

After bleeding to death here at Main Street Station we all went up to the Cannery after midnight for some 5X points. The bleeding continued up here as I dropped $200 playing 8/5 bonus in about an hour. I did manage to hit the card of the day for my only quad for a $25 bonus.

From here it was one last chance at craps. This table started off bad. I switched over to the dark side for a while making a small come back before a shooter hit 3 points. I switched back to the pass line to shoot and stayed there as the table came back. I managed to climb my way back up to even and cashed out with a small $30 win as my day from hell came to an end.
