Day 13

I slept in today and finally got out of the room around 2pm. I went over to Terrible’s to play some VP and get some gas cards. I saw a bank of ten play machine and thought I’d take a shot. I pretty much gave up playing these years ago because the swings were too much for me. Since I’m way up this trip I decided to try again. Trying was a mistake. I tried short pay 7/5 bonus. I could not get a dealt hand better than trips and I was down over $500 before hitting my first quad. I switched over to DDB at this point hoping that since I hadn’t hit many quads I’d get them on this game instead. This game was just as bad. I did hit a few quads and was actually dealt a straight but it didn’t help much. I’ve never been dealt so many three of a kinds and not connect on any of them. I also had way too many hands where I hit nothing. This just doesn’t work on multi-line games. I eventually got dealt quads nines for 2500 coins. After getting my hand pay I cashed out the other credits in the machine and ended the session with a $215 loss and went to the slot club to get my $15 in gas cards for earning over 3000 points.

After waiting in the long assed line at the slot club I was hungry. They were running ½ point buffets and dinner was just 500 points ($1 in comps). This buffet is very small and the food isn’t very good. One of these days I’ll have to get Yahtzee Mike to rate it. Truth be told I’d give this buffet an over all rating of about 5 on the Yahtzee rating system and even that is generous. The selection is weak and the quality isn’t there.

Since this trip is almost over I wanted to get one more day in over at the Pinball Hall of Fame. I played there for a few hours and then came back here to the Hard Rock for some more craps action.

Dealer Ron got me a spot and I stepped right into having the dice. As has been the theme this week I didn’t shoot very well. Luckily other players were doing ok. I was still even after about 2 hours but that’s when things went bad. 4 straight shooters went number, number, out and killed me, and that included me. Then we had a hot shooter that had the dice for close to 20 minutes. I pressed up my bets and made a small fortune on him. I won back everything from the previous 4 shooters and then some before he wet out. The next shooter also rolled for 20 minutes and my red chips turned green and my green chips turned black. Next thing I knew I had both rows in my rack FULL of chips before this guy went out. I actually tipped the shooter for the roll. I played a little longer and things cooled off. When I colored up I had won over $3600 in one of the best sessions ever.

It was now 3am and time to get something to eat at the coffee shop. I tried the French Dip sandwich. The food was good but the roast beef was too well done for me. I finally got back to the room and to bed a little after 4am.
