Day 14

Today I got a phone call first thing in the morning. It was NNylons calling from Ottawa letting me know she made it home. This was good news but a bummer and very strange because we were driving around together just a few hours ago. I managed to get back to sleep for a few more hours before I started the day.
This is my last full day in town and I thought it would be a good idea to play some craps here and get a little more play in. The table started off pretty good and then got choppy before going totally cold. Things turned around and a few hot shooters brought everything back to the rack in front of me. Of course like a jerk I continued to play and then things really got cold. I ended up dropping almost everything I won last night and that was when I realized I simply can’t play craps at these levels any more. I can’t handle the swings and neither can the bankroll.
After my ass kicking at craps I played a little video poker. Things weren’t too bad here and I hit a few quads to keep going. I got about 2 hours of action and cashed out with a $400 win. Normally $400 is nice but it doesn’t come close to offsetting today’s craps loss.
It was getting towards dinner time so I hit the coffee shop and ordered the BBQ Pork Tenderloin from the Chinese menu. This was really good and I would order it again in the future. The service really sucked in here tonight. Once the waitress took my order she disappeared never to be seen again and I even had to flag her down to get my bill.
After dinner I took a walk down the strip walking through each casino to keep warm. I made it all of the way to Harrah’s and looked for Carol WILV but she wasn’t there. I thought she might have been on break so I played a little blackjack to kill a few minutes. I was getting really good hands and I think I only busted twice when I hit. The dealer was hot as well though and seemed to have 20 too many times. I did manage to squeak out a $100 win. One more check to see if Carol was there (she wasn’t) and I headed back up towards Planet Hollywood. I made a stop in Paris and saw Ned the dealer. We go way back to his days at Fiesta Henderson. I had to bust his balls though because they had him dealing on their new chuck-a-luck table.
From Paris I came back over here to Planet Hollywood and played more video poker. Things again were choppy and I wasn’t getting enough quads to survive. Video poker and craps have both been pretty painful this trip with exception of last night’s huge win.
It as getting late so I headed out to the car to clean out my stuff and go to the room to start packing my stuff up for tomorrow’s flight home. I really hate packing and I wish I could just bring disposable clothes!
I finally called it a night around 2:00am hoping to get a good night’s sleep so I would be fresh for my last day in town tomorrow.
