Day 16

I slept really late today. It’s now after 12 noon. I guess between staying up until after 2 and still being sick I needed the rest. I have 4 nights left on this trip and these 4 nights I am RFB here at Sam’s Town. Today I’ll also start giving Sam’s Town some play.
My first move today was to stop at the front desk and pick up my gold card. The gold card is good for complimentary meals and beverages at all restaurants in Sam’s Town as well as all the bars.
After I got my card I made my way over to the Fresh Harvest Café. I usually prefer to go to Mary’s Diner when I’m here but it’s gone. That whole area is blocked off upstairs including most of the upstairs casino. Even thought it was into the afternoon I ordered breakfast. I had a waffle with bacon. Even though it was only a waffle it was very good.
After lunch I had to run up to Henderson to get my laundry I dropped off yesterday. If it weren’t for needing some clothes to wear I wouldn’t have left Sam’s Town at all today. I still felt like crap and really didn’t even want to play. Of course I did though.
When I got back I parked it at a triple play progressive. It was a short pay table but had a progressive on all 3 lines as well as a larger jackpot for a royal on all 3 lines. I was doing well here getting the credit meter up over $300. That’s when the machine turned into a vacuum cleaner. I got quite a bit of play here and cashed out even.
I wandered around the casino for a while and then played some 50-cent video poker. This wasn’t much fun at all. This machine didn’t want to give me much play at all. I walked around a little longer and tried a quarter video poker game. I got about an hour of play at this machine but eventually lost my money here too.
I was hungry again so I went back to the Fresh Harvest Café again. I ordered the triple pork chops. All entrees come with their “famous” soup and salad bar. They have everything from soup and salad to nachos and roll on this salad bar. Everything I had from the salad bar was very good but the pork chops were paper thin and way overcooked. They weren’t good at all.
After I ate I took one more shot at video poker. I played 8/5-bonus triple play. I was doing ok but then the machine stopped giving me any dealt winners, a must in triple play if you’re going to win. I hit the cash out button with $50 on the meter and realized it was a multi denominational machine and I was about to be paid $50 in nickels. If I had known that it was a nickel machine I could have cashed out at $50.05 and it would have been a hand pay. Of course what happens when there is only $1 left on the meter? I needed a hopper fill.
After cashing out I went up to the room. I had planned on going back downstairs to play some more after a short break. I never did make it downstairs again though since I fell asleep. When I woke up a few hours later I just decided to stay put and tomorrow would be another day.
