Day 6
Tuesday December 22, 2009

This morning we slept in a bit and relaxed in the room before starting the day. We started with some shopping over in Arizona at a few of our favorite stores. When we got back over to Laughlin Dee wanted to go to the Riverside to the Watchman and Ringman. She didn’t get anything but always has fun looking at everything.

For lunch we decided to hit the grocery store and get some deli meat and rolls. We were both a little tired of the giant processed meals in the casinos and thought a sandwich would be a nice lunch. We took a break in the room and had lunch and watched a little TV then had a quick nap.

When we woke up it was time to play some more video poker. We hit the triple play machines. Things were decent here for me today. I hit a quad right away but then the drain started. I took the meter from $120 down to $50, hit another quad and then the meter dwindled down to $8. Amazingly the quads and full houses started showing up and the meter was back up to $100 before draining all of the way down to $12 again. Then it went all of the way up. I was able to pop a set of aces and the real highlight of the session was being dealt 4 cards to an open ended straight and hitting on the low side and the high side for a 500 coin hit. Dee had cashed out even and went to play a few penny games while I still pounded away at video poker. I played a bit longer and I cashed out my session with a $100 win.

We weren’t quite hungry yet but needed a break from playing so hit the Keno lounge for a 5 game ticket. We didn’t do well here hitting few numbers but did win one game for $1 which we replayed and lost.

For dinner we went to Café Aquarius to use Dee’s comp slip. Dee got fish and chips and I got the chicken and ribs dinner. This is a ½ rack of ribs and ½ of a chicken. My meal came with broccoli and mashed potatoes as well as soup or salad. I chose chicken noodle soup. The soup was tasty but a bit too salty and the chicken and ribs were good, but not great. Dee said her fish was good.

We still had money left on the comp so e had dessert. I had the Mississippi Mud Pie and Dee had the Banana Split. These desserts were way too big and we rolled out of the restaurant to the video poker machines.

The next session of video poker was good to me. I was hovering fairly even for most of the session although Dee was getting beat up and had to feed in another bill. Things changed for her and then she got a dealt quad to pull her out of a hole. She was tired so ended up cashing her machine out even and came up to bed.

I continued to play, got ahead a bit and switched to ten play for some fun. Things were decent here but a lack of dealt winners was tough. Luckily I was popping quads regularly to stay alive. I hit aces right away and then hit them again later on in the session. I also started getting a few dealt winners like straights, flushes and a full house. I was showing a profit at this point of $200. I decided to play half of those winnings and got about 30 more minutes of action out of the machine before calling it quits for the night with another win of $100 for this session.

Total win/loss for the day $200
Total comps for the day $96
