Day 7
Wednesday December 23, 2009

Today we slept in a bit and had to start off the day with a non-vacation item, laundry. Before the trip I looked upon the net the local Laundromats in town and found one about 5 miles away from Casino Drive so that’s where we started our day off. That’s the one drawback of long trips! Normally when we’re in Las Vegas we use a fluff and fold service but here we washed our own. This is a nice little Laundromat and they offer free WiFi while you’re there too.

When we got back we had a quick lunch in the room with the left over food we bought yesterday and relaxed for a while.

Dee wanted to take pictures so we went for a walk along the river walk and snapped a bunch of photos and walking into the casinos along the way.

It was now time for some video poker. Earlier in the day I swiped my card in a kiosk here and noticed my play got me up to the next tier in the player’s club. This now allows me to cut in lines and get 2X points among a few other things. I wasn’t trying to hit this level but since I made it there, I’ll make use of the perks. We wanted to hit our usual machines but they were in use. We found another bank and played those. I wasn’t happy at this bank as the machines had sticky buttons and Dee had a machine that had a bad deal button and was using the touch screen. Dee did get lucky here early on and popped a set of aces but the VP gods give and take and she lost. I ended up hitting just 1 quad but cashed out the session even and we went to dinner.

On the way to dinner Dee wanted to take another shot at Megabucks. She’s been playing a few bucks through these machines every few days. So far in her trying to hit the big one she’s had 34 spins, and not had a single paying spin yet.

Dinner was at Café Aquarius again. There was a small line here so I used my newly acquired green card to cut in front of everyone. We had a good waiter and I ordered the hot open turkey and Dee had the Beef Enchilada. We shared a Mississippi Mud Pie for dessert and ate way too much again.

After dinner we got onto our favorite bank of machines again. I decided to take a shot and start right off with ten play. Things didn’t work out well here even though I hit 2 sets of aces on a 3 card hold, the other quads were far and few and in a strange series of events full houses were quite rare. The number of dealt 2 pair hand I had were countless and I hit very few full houses. I ended up losing $500 playing the ten plays and switched back to triple play. I was able to hit a few quads here including another set of aces. Dee was holding her own. Through some ups and downs it looked like she was dead in the water but a set of aces and a dealt quad helped her to even. I lost another $100 on triple play from a lack of quads, dealt winners and the ever rare full houses. I can’t really complain about my luck all that much this week as tonight’s losses were the worst of the whole trip.

We finally gave up on the gambling for the day and headed to the room around midnight.

Total win/loss for the day -$600
Total comps for the day $98
