Happy Boxing Day To My Canadian Readers

Today we planned on heading to a store called Savers to get Dee a book. On the way out of the Hilton I did a match play on roulette on black and red came up. It’s just amazing at how poorly we’re doing with these things so far at 8 for 21. After Savers we went to the Pinball Hall of Fame and their new location.

Dee prefers to read when I go here. This is the first time I have been to the new location and it’s huge compared to the old one with lots more games in it. I could hang out here for hours!

After Pinball and reading we were off to Sam’s Town. I had a few match plays and we were going to play some video poker to take advantage of their 5X points on video poker and 7X points on slots. One good thing about most of the play we did yesterday and so far today all goes on our Club Coast/B-Connected card so all the smaller action piles up and makes for one nice comp account!

First up was a stop at the booth to exchange the coupons from the Coast connection insert that I scored in a trade. Dee bonded with guy at the booth because he was Canadian! These were for $20 and could be used on any table game. It was going to be important to win these! Dee played her usual odd and 00 came up. I played my usual black and red came up. This was a painful $40 loss and brought us to 8 for 23 on match plays.

Next up was video poker. I found a bank of games with 8/5 bonus and individual progressives. We started playing but Dee’s machine had a button that didn’t work and the rest of the bank was full. I scouted out a different place to play while Dee played some penny slots. I found some more games and went and found her and we headed to those instead. I hit 2 bonus quads and a regular quad but my best dealt hand was 3 of a kind and I only got 3 of those. I dropped $100 here and Dee lost just 10 bucks.

For a snack to hold us over to dinner we hit the sports book deli and grabbed a turkey sandwich to split and a couple bowls of vegetable soup. I thought it was a decent deal here for 2 bowls of soup, a nice sized sandwich and small chips for under $10. I also grabbed us a couple of sodas at the spots book bar with a coupon from the ACG on the way out.

For dinner we had plans to go to Benihana with our friends Anne & Steve, Anne’s mom, son and friend Stacy as well as Terry’s friend G. The only reason we chose this as opposed to TJ’s Steakhouse where our friend Mark the Waiter works is because there’s a fun factor to it and because Dee has never experienced the exhibition style cooking and I thought she would enjoy it. We all gathered in front and were taken to our own table. The food here is a bit on the pricey side but it’s very good and cooked exhibition style in front of you. Dee was entertained and liked the food.

After dinner we stopped over at TJ’s Steakhouse to see our friend Mark the Waiter for a few minutes. He was happy to see us and we chatted for a bit before he had to get back to work.

Everyone left after this so we came up to the room to change our clothes and then to hit the casino for a while. E played some 8/5 bonus in the sports book casino. I was getting killed and couldn’t seem to pull very much but then hit a straight flush. Shortly after the straight flush I hit another one. These things are tough enough to hit but hitting 2 on single line video poker. Unfortunately I didn’t hit anything else to keep alive and actually lost $80 even though I hit two straight flushes. I wasn’t too happy about this but I didn’t hit any quads. Dee also lost most of her buy in and actually did hit a few quads. We cashed out and went up to the main casino where I did a match play at roulette on black. Red 12 came up and another losing match play was in the books and we were now at 8 for 24 with these things.

Next we hit the Megabucks machines. We each had a few hits but of course lost what we started with then went into the Space Quest casino. I played a monopoly machine and hit 1 bonus round but dropped some cash here too. Dee also lost and came up to bed while I stayed a little bit longer.

I found a triple play machine with 9/5 jacks on it with 130 coins for quads and played $50 through it. I finally hit a quad and naturally it would be fours, with a kicker for 130 coins. That would be all I hit though and dropped $50.

Next up I went to the main casino and took a shot at the 10 play video poker. Things were choppy here at first but leveled off a bit. I was in for $300 which was my max for the day and got dealt quad 8’s, followed by a dealt full house, then a flush, then a straight all within about 20 hands. I had the meter back up over $500. With the theme for tonight though, other than the dealt quad I only hit one other quad. I played a bit more and finished the session with a $200 win and even for the night at the Hilton.

Total win loss for the day -$100
Total comps for the day $82
