Day 13
Tuesday December 29, 2009

It’s hard to believe that another 5 days has gone by and today is yet another moving day. We packed up our things and it was time to check out of the hotel. I wasn’t able to get the last night comped but that’s ok. I had the $25 they gave me for walking in plus another $26 in cash back that will cover that.

We left the Hilton and made a few stops before going to the next hotel.

After our stops we hit Sunset Station and went to Coco’s. I wish Station’s still had their café’s and I hate the trend that’s happening with casinos getting rid of their café’s in lace of chain restaurants. I had the blueberry pancake breakfast that came with 2 eggs, 3 pancakes and bacon. Dee had Coco’s classic. This was 2 eggs, home fries, sausage and pancakes. The food was excellent here and better than I expected. While we ate we played 5 games of Keno and lost.

Today’s move is to Main Street Station where we’ll be spending the remaining 7 nights of our trip. When we arrived here check in was very quick and easy as it usually is here. This reservation was partially booked on a New Year’s Eve offer and the remaining nights were booked through one of their hosts, all comped. We were given room 1005 with 2 queen beds, TV/dresser unit, sitting table and chairs, work desk and a view of downtown & the Strip. The bathroom is tiny and the vanity is outside and the tub and toilet are on the inside. We also got our Hawaiian package books for meals during our stay.

After looking over the room we went back down to the room and fetched our luggage and I parked the car over in the garage. We got settled into the room and it was off to the casino for some video poker. We played triple play 8/5 bonus. I was up and down on the meter and got very few dealt winners but a bunch of quads saved me and I was able to cash out even. Dee got beat on and dropped about $80.

Up next it was time to head over to the Orleans. When we got here we hit the food court for a Subway sub (over prices compared to free standing shops, but you can use points to pay) and then the gift shop for some snacks to go with the sandwich.

When we were done eating we took about a 3 hour nap so we could make it through the night to see the hockey games later on.

After our nap e played a little bit in the casino. I had a couple of coupons to use here that I got in a trade from the Coast Connection insert. Those included two $10 match plays and two play $10 get $10 on slots. The first stop was to play a few minutes at the machines, then to the slot club to get our match play coupons by redeeming a coupon from the Coast Connection insert from the Las Vegas Review Journal. We also had coupons for $10 in free play after playing $10 (thus the quick play before the slot booth) I picked these up on a trade last month.

Once we got through the line at the booth it was off to the tables to try our luck on these match plays. As always Dee took odd on roulette and lost. I took black on the next spin and lost. Had we been there one spin sooner we would have both won our coupons. We are now 14 for 35 on coupons and running out of time to make any money as most of them are now expired. I sure didn’t get to use as many as I had hoped to. Where does the time go?

After this we hit the machines to play through our $10 in free play and to play a bit more. We didn’t play much and I lost $10 plus my free play. Dee cashed out with a $21 win after her play.

We went up to the Orleans arena about 20 minutes before game time. We had tickets right on the glass next to the penalty box, section 117 row AA seats 6 & 7. The Wranglers were playing Idaho tonight. Two seconds into the game right at the face off there was a fight. Clearly something that was brewing from a past game. The game was fun and the Wranglers won it 3-1. One of the funniest things of the night was when the PA announcer was announcing the sponsors of the game. He’d read them off and they’d get a cheer or booed. Most places got a small yay. Chris Angel Believe got a HUGE boo and Adult Emporium got a huge cheer! If you get the chance and like hockey, check out the Wranglers. Tickets are cheap and you can even use comp dollars to buy them. It’s a fun way to save bankroll!

After the game we were going to grab a bite to eat at the Courtyard Cafe with our $10 food credit and then headed upstairs to bed but the place was packed so we went upstairs and ordered room service. The menu is almost identical to the café with only slightly higher prices. I had the hot turkey sandwich and Dee got the Jambalaya omelet. The food was really good and saved us about 45 minutes of being in line down stairs at the café.

We finally got to bed around 4am totally exhausted!

Total win/loss for the day $0
Total comps for the day $240
