Day 4
Friday June 25, 2010

We slept in today until about 9am. We met up with Rick and Wendy for breakfast at the Sundance Grill. We all had the American Breakfast except Dee. She got an omelet item called Joe's Scramble. It was an omelet with all sorts of junk in it. We played Keno and lost again while we ate. The food was really good and our server was attentive and worked hard to make sure we were happy.

After breakfast Rick and Wendy hit the pool and me and Dee hit a few stores for survival items like water, soda, and snacks and stopped at Wal-Mart and CVS for those supplies. This didn't take long and when we got back Dee hit the pool for a while with the cousins and I stayed up here in the suite working on this report and getting our coupons and offers all set up for the rest of the stay.

Rick and Wendy came up to the room to hang out for a bit and make plans for the evening. Yahtzee Mike and Dana (and their friends) arrived this afternoon and they came up to the room to check it out and visit for a bit. They wanted to see Nathan Burton so we headed to the Strip to get tickets for that. We used a 2 for 1 coupon and comp dollars to buy the tickets for Rick and Wendy. Since Dee and I have seen this show already and know how most of the tricks are done, we passed. Instead we played some video poker at the Flamingo on some bad pay tables (7/5 bonus) on Dee's card. I don't mind playing small amounts on bad games when the mailers she's been getting make up for the poor EV of the game.

The VP was a roller coaster ride but I scored a set of aces right away. The roller coaster ride continued for me but I hit a few bonus quads to keep going and another set of aces. Dealt winners were weak again today and were the main cause for so many ups and downs. I played the whole time Rick and Wendy were at the show on my initial $100. I was at a low point of just $20 but came all of the way back to finish up by $100 for the session. Dee was another story though. Despite hitting 2 straight flushes on one hand (she was dealt a straight, with 4 to an open ended straight flush and hit one on the low side and one on the high side, as well as a regular flush) she dropped $200 here for a net loss of $100 between us. In total we played over 6k so hopefully her mailers will continue to be decent.

When Rick and Wendy were done with the show we went down to Imperial Palace to eat at Hash House a Go-Go. Dee has a $25 coupon from a mailer to eat here. I have heard many things about this place, particularly the original location and all was good. One thing I was aware of were the portions being HUGE. Well I am here to say that huge isn't the word. I ordered the chicken pot pie and the plate was about 18 inches long and piled about 6 inches high with food. In fact all of our dishes were piled high on huge plates. The food was good but the food wasted was unacceptable especially when the economy is the way it is. NOTE: Two people can easily share an entree and not leave hungry.

After dinner we walked off some of the meal by going across the street to Caesars Palace. We showed Rick and Wendy where Dee and I met in 2003 and then headed off to Bellagio. While we were there we hit the conservatory. They had lots of animals made of flowers like bumble bees, snails, and frogs. There was also a giant flower pot and shovel among other things. The next stop was out front so Rick and Wendy could see the fountains.

After a few fountain shows we went back over to Bill's to get the car and then headed downtown. On the way we made a quick stop at the Pawn Shop featured on the TV show Pawn Stars. They were closed for cleaning tonight but we snapped a few pictures outside before heading down to Fremont Street. We parked over at Main Street Station and walked over to Fremont Street from there. It was a little early for the show so we walked into the Golden Nugget and checked out the pool area and the world's largest Golden Nugget.

The Fremont Street Experience show was Queen - We Will Rock You. It was entertaining but I still prefer the older shows that were creative with a bunch of songs as opposed to the newer "music video" type shows they are doing now.

After the show it was back to Main Street Station to get the car then back up the strip for some night time pictures on the drive. We also stopped at the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign for more pictures. We got back to the Silverton around midnight and went our own ways.

Before bed will filled up the Jacuzzi and stupid me added a little bit too much bubble bath and it looked like a bad episode of the Brady Bunch. After short soak it was bedtime!

Total win/loss for the day -$100
Total comps for the day $435
