Day 5
Saturday June 26, 2010

We were up early this morning even though we went to bed late. We had early plans for breakfast with Rick and Wendy because today is Yahtzee Mike's Annual Crapsfest and it was scheduled early at 10am. We had breakfast at the Sundance Grill again. I tried to order light because we were going to be having an early dinner but it's tough here. I had a waffle with bacon and Dee had a Mediterranean Fritatta. The food was good but the server was kind of off of his game.

After breakfast it was time for Yahtzee Mike's annual Crapsfest. Crapsfest is nothing more than a meet but at a craps table instead of a bar or lounge. This year we had an early start time of 10am and I think that kept people away. The only people that participated were me, Mike & Dee, who played craps for the very first time. Things were ok here but not great. There was a don't bettor at the other end of the table so me and Mike made it our job to wipe him out. For the most part the table was up and down. We'd have a good roll then a bad one and hovered +/- $100. Things got bad at one point though and we were starting to get killed while the don't bettor was making a pile of money. Things changed though when Mike had a decent roll and brought us back to even. I went out quickly on my roll but the Dee had a decent roll too. The next time the dice came to me I had a decent roll and wiped out Mr. Don't and he had to buy in again. YES, mission complete. We had been playing for close to 3 hours at this time and although we didn't have any monster rolls Dee won $8 and I won just under $100. While the turn out wasn't great for Crapsfest it was a success for the bankroll with a $100 win.

After cashing in we hit the pool for a while with Rick and Wendy. The water was nice but it's so hot out and the sun so intense that we don't stay out there or very long. After the pool we came up to the room and took a break in the Jacuzzi and rested before dinner.

For dinner we had planned a gathering of our Vegas friends for a "wedding reception" at Season's buffet. This was so that they wouldn’t have to fly to the east coast to celebrate with us at the real reception. In total there were 21 of us and we had a great time with everyone taking pictures and telling stories while over eating at the buffet. The gathering lasted for about 3 hours before we broke things up and all went our own ways.

Since Rick and Wendy were never here before I gave them each a coupon from the American Casino Guide good for $10 in free play for new sign ups for the Silverton Player's club. I also activated my $75 in free play that came with the room. They found some games they liked and we hit the 10-play video poker games. Things were better tonight than they were they other day. I was getting dealt winners but Dee was getting beat up. Combined though we were about even so things were good. After a while with switched and I was getting beat on and Dee was getting the dealt winners. We both scored a set of aces to keep us moving and we were hitting some dealt winners and quads on a regular basis. I started really getting killed but Dee got on a tear. Still combined we were even though so kept plugging away. Rick and Wendy found us and Dee was giving them a lesson in what we were doing. I kept joking with her that she should hit a royal while she had an audience and show them how it's done. Not 5 minutes later she's dealt 3 to a royal hit draw and turn to Wendy to say something. I looked at the screen and there was a royal on line 9, pointed it out and the screaming began! Dee was so excited and took a break and let Wendy play her machine. We gave Wendy the advice needed on each hand but oddly for never having played VP before was pretty good on most hands.

I had stopped playing at this point but had $100 left on my machine. I was going to let Wendy play down but then she got on a roll so I played my $100 knowing we would still quit at a high point. While I was playing I held 3 to a royal and I also hit one on line 9 for another $1000. We quit shortly after with a nice win for the evening.

After I cashed out the tickets we played a variety of penny slots for a while. I went a little crazy and hit max bet a few times scoring 3700 & 5400 coins followed by a bonus round for about $150. I cashed out here with another $200 win and it was time to head upstairs to pack for tomorrow's move and then head to bed!

Total win/loss for the day $1950
Total comps for the day $774
