Day 10
Thursday July 1, 2010

First of all let me say Happy Canada Day to my Canadian readers! This morning we started out our day just after 5am with the fire alarm going off in the hotel. When the alarm goes off in the hotel, it goes off in each room, and it's loud! It woke me up out of a dead sleep and scared the shit out of me. Security was right outside our room and it appeared someone had tampered with the smoke detection system.

We slept in today after the fire alarm ruined our night's sleep. Once we got up and got cleaned up we headed out for the laundromat that's not too far from here to wash some clothes. They offer internet here so we took the laptop with us so we could catch up on messages since we had checked our mail since we were in Phoenix a week ago.

Once the laundry was all done it was back over to the Aquarius for some lunch. We had more of the foods we picked up at the grocery store the other day. I think we bought a bit too much as we still didn't get through it.

When we were done with lunch we went back over to the outlets across the street to Burkes outlet. I got an e-mail from them that said the dots have moved. We spent a while over here digging through all of the discount racks and scored some decent bargains. When we were done here we walked back over to the Aquarius to fetch the car and head over to Bullhead City and Beall's Outlet. We scored pretty good here and Dee got some super bargains unheard of these days!

We'd now gone through every corner of the store and came back to the Aquarius for dinner. Tonight was the first day the buffet reopened after the renovations. They did a nice job renovating the room but they didn’t revamp the buffet itself. The foods were good but there aren't many selections. However, if you like salad they have a huge salad bar and their dessert section can rival some of the best Vegas buffets including M. The food here was good and we ate WAY too much.

It was time to play after dinner so we hit the triple plays. Since it was a new quarter we both had free play again (part of the reason we chose these dates to come to Laughlin). I had $150 and Dee had $75. Dee held her own for a while on her $75 but eventually lost her free play. She switched machines because she was getting smoked out by a lady a few machines down. She was one of those inconsiderate smokers the held her cigarette far away from herself up in the air so everyone else around her had to smoke too. Dee dropped another $200 on the machine she moved to with few quads during her session. She can't complain too much those as it was only the only time she really lost since we'd been down here.

I on the other hand was doing quite well. I started off with a few quads right off the start and multiple dealt winners. I had the meter well over $200 and continued to pound away. I eventually got dealt quad queens and a few more dealt full houses. The highlight hand of the session was when I held a lone jack and drew a straight flush on the bottom line. Shortly after this I scored 4 aces for another $100 hit taking the meter well over $300. I decided to play down to $300 which came pretty quickly after I hit the aces and I cashed out the session with a $300 win to offset Dee's $200 loss for a $100 win for the day.

I cashed our tickets and we came back up to the room to pack up our things for the move back to Las Vegas tomorrow.

Total win/loss for the day $100
Total comps for the day $560
