Day 16
Wednesday July 7, 2010

We were up early today and finished up packing. Then we hit the Triple 7 for one last comped meal on our silver card. I had my filet mignon sandwich again and Dee had the cup of soup and sandwich of the day. The soup was lentil and the sandwich was BBQ prime rib. Mine was good and Dee really liked hers too.

Next we went up to the room and called for a bellman to come to the room but when Dee called the phone rang and rang. Finally someone answered and told her the bellman was on break for another 25 minutes and asked if we wanted to wait for him. We declined and carried our own stuff down but took 2 trips to do it. First of all WTF is the bellman doing taking break at a peak check out time and second of all WTF is Main Street Station thinking by having only 1 bellman, yet there are 2-3 guys in the valet area.

We left Main Street Station and stopped off at a laundromat in Green Valley to drop off our clothes for fluff and fold service. We never used this place before but wanted some place different than the one by Fiesta Henderson. We also stopped off at Albertson's for a few more supplies.

Next up it was off to M where we'd be calling home for the next 4 nights. This is a combination of 2 comped nights from Dee's mailer and 2 comped nights on my mailer. When we checked in we asked if we could link the reservations so we wouldn't have to check in and out and move rooms. This wasn't a problem and the clerk was cool. Check in went pretty smoothly and we were off to room 9129. This room has a strip view with a king bed, night tables, sitting chairs and table, wall unit with over priced mini bar, and work desk. The bathroom is large with a bathtub and window that looked into the room and out to the strip, dual vanities, tiled shower stall and separate toilet room.

We got our things to the room from the bellman and got settled in and then just chilled for a while and then had a quick nap. Dee went to check her e-mail and realized that they wanted to charge for internet now. She called the front desk to verify and they confirmed that wifi isn't free anymore. This was a huge disappointment especially since M removed their resort fee last year and increased the room rates to make up the difference. Now the room rates are still just as high but there are no extras. It's not the end of the world but now we'll just have to go out to make contact with people back home as I refuse to pay $12-$20 a night for internet access. It's another fee that if they made the rates reasonable more people would actually pay for the service and they'd make more money in the long run.

To start off the evening we played some penny slots. This wasn't a great start to the night. I did have a big hit on one machine for over 8000 coins but Dee was getting killed. Shortly after I was getting killed too. It didn’t matter what games we played the hits were small and there were few bonus rounds. By this time we had earned enough points for free buffets though so went there for dinner. Even though we're trying not to eat too much these days, this is the best deal in the house right now and only makes sense. Plus since we're not paying full price we don’t' need to get maximum value out of the buffet. It was close to closing time so we felt a bit rushed to eat but the food were once again fresh and tasty and they were still adding foods to the buffet almost until the end but they removed the foods starting at about 9:40pm.

After we ate we played some single line video poker. We also had free play to use. Dee had $20 and I had $25. I played quite a while on my free play but Dee lost hers quickly. She fed in a ticket from earlier in the night and then hit a few quads. In one period of time she hit 3 quads in about 10 hands. That was impressive. She finished up the session with a small win. I finally lost my free play money and fed in a bill. I decided to take a shot at some DDB hoping for a bonus quad or two. This worked out ok as I hit a few regular quads and stayed close to even. I was missing the bonus quads with kickers frequently and felt it was a matter of time before they hit. I eventually scored a set of aces without a kicker for $200 followed by quad 7's. I cashed out the session with a decent win and we called it a night. Even though we lost we got a decent amount of play however we were back in the hole again for the trip.

Total win/loss for the day -$250
Total comps for the day $217
