Day 18

We slept in today since we got to bed so late last night. While were were getting ready the news came on and showed Air Force One on the runway at the airport as the Obama was in town and getting ready to leave. Dee said she could see the plane on the runway taxiing but I couldn't locate it. Since all other air traffic is stopped when this guy is in the area I waited to see it on TV taking off and then saw it out the window. I got a few distant pictures of it but nothing great since we were pretty far away and my camera isn't that good. It was kind of neat seeing it on TV and live at the same time.

Once we got ready we went out to pick up our laundry and to Panera Bread to go online and check our e-mails and communicate back home. We actually paid for lunch here today. Damn, what is this world coming to? This is the second time this trip I paid for food and didn't use a comp!

From Panera we went to Dee's favorite store Savers to look around and grab a book for her and then it was off to the Pinball Hall of Fame for me! I go in to play games and Dee stays in the air conditioned car and reads! This place is great and a hell of a deal. I always have fun here playing classic video and pinball games and Dee gets to read and relax! I stayed here playing for an hour and then we went over to the Hilton.

The only reason for stopping at the Hilton was to pick up sports bet for a buddy at work. Every year he picks an NFL team to go all of the way and we both put $50 on it. A few years ago we hit and every year with exception of 1 he had us in the Super Bowl. We also bought a ticket for the NHL futures and put $20 on Ottawa just for fun.

Next stop was Terrible's for dinner. We went to the Bougainvillea Cafe. They remodeled a bit and moved the cashier in between the buffet and the cafe (thus eliminating a few jobs no doubt) and made the old cashier area more seating. As usual the service in here was slow but the food was very good. Dee had the meat lasagna (does anyone see a theme here with the food Dee orders? If anyone is keeping score let me know how many times she ordered a pasta dish). I had the hot open prime rib sandwich. It's a few thin slices of prime rib, mashed potatoes and slathered with gravy. It was very good and we topped off the meal with apple pie a la mode.

Next up we played in the free daily slot tournament. We didn't finish anywhere near the money but Dee did beat me! It was fun for the 2 minutes we got to play and away we went back to M.

When we got back to M and got to the room we weren't able to get in. It seemed as if our keys weren't working. Technically today was a moving day as we went from Dee's offer to my offer but at check in they linked the reservations and the girl assured us the keys would be valid for the whole stay. I walked back to the front desk while Dee waited outside our door to get in. I told the front desk guy of the situation and he shook his head and said I'll make you new keys, the other ones expired because of the "change" of guests.

We played video poker. Dee wanted to hit a progressive so we tried out the same triple plays. It was too bad so sad for Dee though as not only did she not hit the progressive, she lost $200. She hit a few quads along the way including aces again playing jacks or better. I hit a few quads myself and hovered even for most of the session. I was getting bored with jacks so switched to DDB for a little more fun. I wasn't able to hit much of anything here including just pairs or trips. I eventually hit quad 4's and kings pretty close together and thought it was going to turn. It didn’t and with just one more quad ended up losing everything I wanted to lose for the night which was $200. We were getting double points on video poker tonight and I wanted to play a little bit more but Dee didn't want us to lose any more. I figured we'd play more tonight while getting double points and less tomorrow but she vetoed that idea and swears she wasn't being controlling (and I swear I wasn't being whipped!)

We ended up in the room watching TV and reading way too early for my liking but tomorrow we'll hopefully be up early and have a full day of fun as Anne & Steve will be appearing with us here at The M Resort and Casino!
