Day 20
Sunday July 11, 2010

We slept in this morning once again (see the theme here) and then got the rest of our things packed up and called the bellman. He got there quickly and called the valet for us to get the car. One thing I can say is the service at M is very good and the people seem to enjoy working there. It was sad to leave the nice room and nice property but what can you do?

We were a little hungry and wanted a light lunch so went down Tropicana looking for a quick meal. We decided on Arby's and ordered off the dollar menu to hold us over until dinner tonight. From here we went back to the strip to go to the next hotel.

Today's move is to Bally's. I booked this room on one of their special summer promos where you get 25% off published room rates. I wanted to guarantee us a suite with a Jacuzzi to wrap up this trip so I booked one through this offer and plan on using comp dollars to cover the charges. Actually the website wouldn't even let me log in and use this promotion at the time I booked it so I'm hoping there is no problem with the billing as I'm not expecting to lay out close to $400 for this room. When we arrived we used the diamond check in area. Things went well here and our room was ready when we arrived. In just a few minutes we were off to a grand suite number 1997. I haven't stayed in one of these in many years and they are at the end of the hallways in the north tower. They've been remodeled since my last visit. This room has a long entrance into the living room area. It's got a king bed with a night stand, on one side and work desk on the other. It doesn’t have a flat screen TV but a 27" TV in a TV cabinet/dresser. In the corner there's a small table and chairs and a view of Flamingo Rd and the center strip area. To the side of the room is a slightly elevated area with a large Jacuzzi tub in the middle. On each side of the tub are his and hers vanity areas and closets. Behind the tub there is a bidet room, toilet room and shower. The room is nice and I'm sure in its day was a top of the line suite but in today's Las Vegas I've stayed in standard rooms that are much better.

Once we looked over the room we got our luggage and got unpacked for the remainder of the trip. This is the final hotel of this extended trip. The next move will be back home to NY. That thought really sucks though and were not going to discuss it any more until we have to. Once we were all unpacked we went for a walk over to Planet Hollywood. I had gotten a coupon in a mailer for 2 free tickets to Peepshow with Holly Madison. We've both seen the show before when Planet Hollywood was independent. Last summer I had another mail offer with free tickets that I promised to our friend Norm when I was cut off and had my reservation canceled. I promised to make that up to Norm and not that Harrah's owns Planet Hollywood I didn’t expect any problems and there weren't. The tickets they gave us are normally $100 in section 202 seat 103 & 104. I called Norm to let him know we got the tickets for him for Tuesday night's show.

We left Planet Hollywood and took a walk down the strip to MGM Grand with a quick stop at the Hawaiian Market Place. I've read and heard about this little section on the strip and how popular it but don't really know why. When we got to MGM we turned around and came back to Bally's to take a break and rest for a while.

For dinner we went to a restaurant on Flamingo called Bucca di Beppo. We had gotten a gift card from a good friend of ours as a gift and wanted to put it to good use. I had been here once in the past with Anne and her family but Dee had never been here. We ordered the chicken parmesan and the side of spaghetti. The food was good but the place was a little ruckus tonight, more so then usual.

We went to the Gold Coast to play after dinner and hit the triple/five plays. I started with 5 play and dropped $100 in no time at all not getting a single dealt winner better than a pair of jacks. I switched to triple play and had equally as bad luck. Dee was holding her own and hovering on the same bill the whole time again. I had just popped in a 4th bill and Dee got dealt 4 to a royal. She paused, got my attention and held her 4. The machine had a slow draw and we watched a jack fill in for a royal on line 2. Not just a royal but a sequential royal, not that it paid a bonus on this machine.

We cashed out and played a short time on some penny slots and got out of there with a win and came back to Bally's. On the way to the room we stopped at Java Coast and picked up a few snacks for the room and headed upstairs. To wrap up the night we filled up the Jacuzzi and jumped in to have a relaxing end to the day.

Total win/loss for the day $550
Total comps for the day $200
