Day 22
Tuesday July 13, 2010

We forced ourselves to get up early today and get motivated so we could enjoy the day. It's amazing that today is the last full day of this mega trip. At times it seems like yesterday we just got here and at times it seems like we've been here forever.

Once we were up and at 'em we made our first stop of the day Main Street Station. We needed to check Dee in for our flight tomorrow (I was already checked in from buying an early bird check in).

Once we were done with the airline stuff we walked over to the California Snack bar for a quick lunch. I had a bowl of Potato Leek Soup and Dee got Chili Cheese Fries. I used points from my B-Connected Card. The food was really good and would hold us over until dinner later tonight.

On the way back through Main Street Station we stopped off at the Boar Bar to see Bartender Brian. He’s one of the few employees left from the old days. We chatted for a bit and then headed out.

Next stop was to drop off our tote of junk over at my friend Anne’s house. Storing a small tote here allows us to keep a few extra items out here so we don’t have to lug them back and forth. From here it was off to the post office on Sunset Rd to mail a few items to people back home.

When I was done here Dee wanted to stop at Sunset Park to see the replica Eater Island statue they have in the lake there. She had seen this from the plane before and read about it but couldn’t tell me where it was. Stacy actually looked it up on her phone the other night at M and said it was at Sunset Park. This was all I needed to know and I got us there with no problem. We walked around a bit here and took a few pictures before heading out.

On the way back to Bally’s we stopped at Home Depot. Dee wanted to see what kind of tropical plants they had that she’s seen in places before. They didn’t have anything she liked so we moved on.

When we got back to Bally’s I gave Dee $300 to put into a $1 triple play machine. Since she’s got this ability to hover I figured she’d be able to get quite a bit of action here. We didn’t play for long but she was getting dealt winners and lots of full houses (short pay, but lots of them) and then scored a bonus quad. She had the meter up to $700 and we cashed out at $500 with a $200 win.

We had a snack from Java Coast after this and then played some quarter triple play. I got my ass handed to me in no time and moved to penny slots. I did better here while Dee still hovered on her VP machine. I ended up cashing out of the penny slots even but Dee lost her $100. We went to a different area of the casino and Dee played more triple play and I played the Sex in the City Slots. I hit a few bonus rounds for some decent coin to keep playing but nothing major. I cashed out even and Dee lost another $100.

We went up to the room to rest and watch the baseball All – Star game. It was a great game and the rest was needed. Once we were all powered up again we walked over to Planet Hollywood to go to the Spice Market Buffet. I had a coupon from the quarterly magazine they sent me for 2 free buffets. When we arrived there was a huge line at the TOP of the escalator but there was no one in the diamond line. We were sent down the escalator immediately where I saw another huge line where people that had paid waited for a table. We again used the diamond line and were seated within 2 minutes. We like this buffet but it’s not as good as the M buffet and certainly no buffet is worth the wait that people standing in line for. They have different stations here and there is something for everyone here. If you can’t find something to eat here you’re doing something wrong. The power of a diamond card was worth its weight in gold tonight.

I’m sure that by the time we left there were people that were upstairs waiting to go down that were probably still waiting in line. I just don’t understand why people would wait 1-2 hours to eat at a buffet. On the same note I can’t understand why a casino would want its guests standing in line for that long either. To me, if a person is standing line, they aren’t spending money.

After dinner we walked through Paris on the way back to Bally’s and saw Ned the dealer again. We told him we’d probably be back in December and we’d see him then.

We went back up to the room after this and filled up the tub for one last soak on the trip and then hit the bed hoping to get a few hours of sleep.

Total win/loss for the day -$100
Total comps for the day $189
