Day 13
Thursday December 23, 2010

We started our day off today with breakfast/lunch at the buffet. The buffet here is basic at best but it's a decent deal at $10. There was no line so we weren't able to cut in front of everyone. The foods here were decent for the most part but some of the stuff looked like it was sitting there a little too long and appeared really dried out. After I ate way too much we rolled out of the buffet and went over to the outlets across the street and to Family dollar for a few items then back over here to the Aquarius. That's where we are right now in the report because we are LIVE! We're taking a short break right now and then it'll be off to the casino.

When we got to the casino we hit the triple plays to start our day. We were now dangerously close to actually being down for the trip even after hitting 6 royals. The swings this trip so far have been crazy. I know we've played some bad games but not that many bad games that there should be a $5000 swing at this point. I'm just glad we were up that much to begin with or this trip could have been really bad so far. We hit the triple plays again and things were decent this time for Dee. She hit quad aces and got a dealt bonus quad. I got good play for my money but ended up losing yet again. Go figure. It's not like that's been the theme between royals. For the session we finished down $100.

We played a few penny games after video poker and got some decent play out of $20 but eventually lost it all and headed out to the river walk over to the Riverside. Dee likes to look at the rings and watches over there so we spent a little bit of time doing that. We went back out to the river walk after that and went as far down as the Pioneer and back.

When we returned to the Aquarius we went to dinner at Cafe Aquarius. Since we were here last night they introduced a new menu. It included more breakfast items and added a few dinner/lunch items. They also removed all of the pasta dishes and Mexican dishes except for the fajitas. Dee got a salmon dinner and I got prime rib sliders. The foods were excellent tonight and we topped them off by sharing a hot fudge sundae.

The next move was back to video poker. I started out well hitting a quad and then getting dealt queens. Dee was getting beat up and then switched machines and did better. When she moved she hit a bunch of quads and got a painful straight flush of A2345, the reverse equivalent of a royal flush. In the end she got beat out of $200. I was plugging away at my machine but eventually the quads dried up and the dealt winners disappeared and so did my $100. We got good play time tonight but lost yet again. We are just getting too many sessions where we are both losing. I can only recall a handful of sessions where we both won or only one of us lost and one of us won. It's getting old and we've now only got $200 left out of all of the royals we have hit so far.

We came back to the room a bit early to relax and call it a night early.

Total win/loss for the day -$400
Total comps for the day $142
