Day 2
Wednesday June 22, 2011

Dee was up bright and early today and woke me up at 8am to tell me she was heading down to the casino to play. I got up and got ready and met her down there. She already had a decent start but was losing a bit. We moved down to the progressive triple plays by the front door. I started off by using my $75 in free play. The session was ok but I had to feed in a bill after I went 12 straight hands without any payoff at all. I came back with some quads and we played for a while. Dee wasn't as lucky but we salvaged the session with only a small loss between us.

For breakfast we went to the buffet again. Again the food here is basic but good and did the trick filling us up and was covered by the silver card.

After we ate we took another shot at the progressives up front with no luck at all. We got decent play between us running almost 7k through today but a lack of quads was a downfall for sure. We also took a shot at a variety of penny slots with no luck. We are really going to limit these on this trip as last time they were a major downfall for us even though I'm usually really lucky on them.

Today the Coast properties and Sam's are running a promo where you earn a number of points you could get up to 3 chances on the kiosk to pick a safe and win a prize. I earned the maximum of 3 chances and won 5,000 points each time ($15 cash/free play or $25 in comps).

I was still tired from a lack of sleep the last few days so we came up here to take a short break. I slept for about an hour and then we headed out to gather a few survival items and to stop at Anne's house to get our tote of stuff that we leave out here.

Next stop was Terrible's for a late lunch/early dinner at the Bougainvillea Cafe. Dee got the Chef's salad and I got the T-Bone special for $9.99. It comes with potato and vegetables. The food here was good and the service was typically slow but we've come to expect that here. I used points from my player’s card to cover the bill.

On the way out, we each played a match play from the American Casino Guide (ACG). Dee played odd and 18 came up and then I played black and the red 9 came up so we were out $20. We didn’t play any other games here and headed out.

We decided on South Point to play for a while and play on the kiosk spin game they were offering for 200 points. We played triple play here but things weren't good. I scored a few quads but nothing between them and not many dealt winners. Dee's luck was even worse. I switched to Double-Double for a bit and scored a set of deuces but they couldn't save the session. I also had $10 in free play from my mailer they sent me so ran that through too with zero hits on it. We took our free spins and Dee won a free movie ticket and I won 2,500 points ($7.50) and we got out of there. One thing we were both amazed about when we arrived was that people are still lined up and waiting a long time to get into Steak 'n Shake. I thought that after 6 months the excitement would have worn off but obviously not.

When we got back to Sam's we played a short session on Dee's card so she could do the promo here too. This didn't work out too well as she dropped another $100 and I dropped $50. It would have been worse had I not hit a quad to start off with. In total I hit quite a few quads today but the end result was not very good as I wasn't hitting anything between quads.

On Dee's picks she also scored 5,000 points on all three of her picks.

Before calling it quits for the night we stopped off at Calamity Jane's for some ice cream. Dee got some coffee flavored stuff and I got a hot fudge sundae with cherry vanilla ice cream. On the way to the room people were eyeballing our treats. I offered to sell mine to an old lady but she wasn't buying!

While we ate our ice cream we were waiting for the Mystic Falls show to start. When it started only the lights were working. The Wolf didn't come out and none of the water was working. We thought it was pretty funny but felt bad that all the people down there watching either felt cheated or though the show was REALLY lame!

We wrapped up the night with a little TV and hoped that tomorrow would bring better luck.

Total win/loss for the day - $750
Total Comps for the day $188
