Day 3
Thursday June 23, 2011

This morning we were up early and hit the pool area for a while. It opens early at 8am so we were out there before the crowds. Unfortunately the pool was closed for some work and according to the front desk it would be closed until noon. Later there was a message on the room phone telling us this and later in the day there was another message saying it wouldn't be open until 5pm.

Since we couldn't go to the pool we decided it was time to play. We chose to start off with single line today because we planned on parking it here all day and wanted to limit our exposure after yesterday's ass kicking. We played some 8/5 bonus single lines near the park. I did well scoring my first set of aces for the trip and various other quads. The real highlight of this trip was hitting back to back quads. Too bad I wasn’t playing the old Shockwave video poker. Dee wasn't so lucky and lost a few bills here and didn't land a quad at all. She took $20 to a few slots and got quite a bit of play out of it before losing it. We were hungry now and cashed out the session with a $30 win between us.

For breakfast/lunch we went to the Sportsbook deli. We like the food here and it's not too badly priced. It's part of our silver card so price didn't really matter. I got a bowl of vegetable soup and the roast beef on rye and Dee had the soup and Dee got turkey on rye. The sandwiches also come with chips, lettuce and tomato. Soda is a rip at $2 and you don't get refills.

When we were done eating we hit the triple plays by the front door again. I was up and down but then scored a set of aces and numerous other quads. I even held trip threes and scored a quad on 2 of the 3 lines. And also hit my first straight flush for the trip. Dee was getting killed again but switched machines and had a decent comeback. We got quite a bit of play here but in the end finished down for the session and were now in the hole for the day.

We took a break and were going to look into go to the Thursday afternoon show but it was already started so we just rested and watched TV for a while until it was time for dinner.

Tonight we tried Willy & Jose's Mexican Cantina. Of all of the years I've been coming here I've never eaten here. They start you off with chips and salsa and for my meal I chose the 3 taco combo plate. Dee had a red burrito. The food came out in what had to be record time. I've been to fast food places that took longer to get the food to us than it took here today. For dessert we split an order of some type of Mexican donuts that have a little chocolate on them and that you drip honey on. They were pretty good but I wouldn't order them again.

Next up we hit the single line VP machines again. Things were decent here and we didn't have to keep feeding in bills. I hit a few quads to start off with. We were both hovering around even for the longest time and then I started to get killed. With my last $20 I switched to halves and scored a set of deuces for $100 putting me back ahead. Dee was still plugging along but still hadn't hit a quad on the single lines yet today. Amazingly she was still +/- $20 most of the session. She finally did score some quads and got a head a bit but I was getting killed again. I made my switch to halves again on my last $20 but with no luck. Dee was still going strong and I took $20 and played some slots. I was doing well and doubled up to $40. Dee’s fire went out and se cashed out her session even. That was pretty impressive considering how few quads she hit.

We wandered around with my $40 ticket playing a bunch of penny slots. I did well tonight and we played for about an hour before it was back down to $20 and I cashed out and we quit for the night.

Total win/loss for the day - $300
Total Comps for the day $125
