Day 6
Sunday June 26, 2011

Today we slept in and then hit the buffet at Main Street Station. I thought it was the same as it usually is and that's a good thing.

We played those new triple plays after brunch and finally had a decent session. We both got decent play out of our money before the bleeds started to happen. We had both hit a few quads to keep us going but they dried up. We both fed in a second bill and shortly after I got a set of aces dealt to me. While I was waiting for my scratch cards Dee drew a set of aces as well. We played a bit longer and even though we had 4 sets of aces between us we cashed out with just a $50 win.

We went to dinner over at the California again to the Market Street Cafe. Dee got her favorite spaghetti with meat sauce again and I had the pork cutlet special. This is one of my favorite specials here and very tasty. On the way over we stopped at the gift shop and Dee picked out a couple of watches that I used points to pay for. She was happy with her choices and I was happy with the final prices!

After dinner we took a walk down Fremont Street with a quick stop at the Golden Nugget for a few games of Keno with no luck. We also checked out the zip lines too. It looked fun but not worth the $15 it costs to do it. I think the best bet for cost here would be the $50 day pass.

After our walk through Fremont Street it was back over to Main Street Station for some more video poker action. We hit the triple play games again and we started hitting quads one after another and I scored another set of aces. Things got choppy after that though and the gains started to dwindle. Dee cashed out even for her session and I took just over $50 in profit. All in all it hasn't been a bad day so far at the machines which is a welcome change of pace even though we still await our first royal of the trip.

After we cashed out we came up here to the room to take a break from that gaming and reenergize a bit then it was back down to the casino for some more gaming action.

We hit the triple plays again and the decent luck continued as we went on a quad tear. Dee got dealt aces for starters and continued hitting quads including 4 more sets of aces. We were both hitting quads so often I think the slot attendants knew my slot card number without looking at it. Between the sessions we played earlier and to a certain point tonight we were at 37quads and I told Dee our goal was going to be 50. We continued to pound away and the whole time we were on the original buy in from when we sat down. After 2 1/2 hours I ended up losing my original $100 but Dee was up big. We took a break for a late night meal with a quad count of 47 which included 13 sets of aces (6 of which came from each of us getting dealt aces).

We went to the triple 7 to eat and Dee had the chicken finger platter which was more like the chicken cutlet platter. It came with just 3 chicken fingers but each one is the size of a small chicken breast. I had my standard Filet Mignon sandwich. Everything was good and we were back onto the casino floor playing more video poker in search of that 50th quad for the day. Dee had no luck at all and got busted out quickly. I hit a quad right away followed by another one shortly after. I was hovering around even and told her I would play until my buy in was gone or I hit a quad. I finally hit that last quad to reach the goal. I had 40 coins above a $200 cash out so played those down and scored some big hands and capped off the night with yet another quad and cashed out.

In total today we hit a total of 51 quads and of those 13 were aces. I think it was probably one of the best video poker days you can have without hitting a royal. Now for each of those 51 quads we had a scratch card. 49 of them were for $2 and 2 of them were for $3.

It was about 2am now so we decided to pack it in and go to bed.

Total win/loss for the day $750
Total Comps for the day $224
