Day 12
Saturday July 2, 2011
We got up early today to hit the pool with Rick and Wendy for a while. This place was packed and is getting like the Hard Rock. To make things even crazier, later in the day Holly Madison from Planet Hollywood's Peepshow was going to be making an appearance.

Once we had enough pool time we got ready to start our day by going over to the Rio for their buffet. I haven't had this buffet in years and was actually looking forward to it. While it's not what it once was back in its day it's still pretty darn good. This was a brunch buffet today and was priced at $24.99 per person. Dee and I both had Buy One Get One Free coupons and used points to pay the balance.

When we were done with lunch we took Rick and Wendy over to the Palms to sign up for player's cards. For signing up they got some free points and $10 in free play. They ran their play through and cashed out with a little profit. We walked through the place on a mini tour and then headed out.

Our next stop was the Hard Rock for another tour and sign up bonus for Rick and Wendy. I gave them coupons from the ACG as well as the card but they were denied the bonus because the cards weren't signed. They could have signed the cards but they were worried that we wouldn't be able to use them so they went without. While we were there I grabbed some chips at the cage for my collection. They just released a 4th of July chip and a Rehab Pool party chip. I also stopped by and saw a few of the dealers I used to play craps with when I was staying and playing here.

It was back to Flamingo after this and a short break. All this running around and heat was beating us up pretty good. Rick and Wendy went out and about for the evening.

After the break I and Dee went over to Caesars Palace to get tickets to Absinthe. I wanted to use points to pay for them and of course no one had a clue on how to do this. Finally a supervisor at the Total Rewards booth knew what to do. After about 30 minutes we had a confirmation for the show for tomorrow night.

Next up was a walk through the Forum Shops and over to Harrah's. We wanted to get tickets with our diamond cards to Legends in Concert for Monday night. We got our vouchers and took them to the box office. We got 4 tickets at table LL seat 1, 4, 5, & 6.

Once we had our tickets we came back to the Flamingo to get the car and head out to dinner at Viva Mercado’s. We had plans to meet with Anne, Steve, Jason, Stacy and another Steve. One of the Steve's wasn't feeling well and didn’t make it. Viva Mercado's is a Mexican restaurant on the West side of town and Spring Mountain and Rainbow. We had a good meal and Anne as always plays the birthday game with this place trying to embarrass us. This time it was Dee's birthday (which was 2 weeks ago). She got a free order of Churros though and we all had a good time with everyone here and hung out after dinner until after 10pm.

When we left the restaurant and went over to the Silverton. I had an offer that was offering me $200 in free play for the holiday weekend but it said you needed to book the room to get it. However the offer I had used last week said the same thing but the free play was on my card. I thought it was worth looking into and it paid off as not only did I have the $200 in free play from this offer, I had the $75 free play from the monthly room offer for a total of $275. We chose our normal 10 play machines and things started off well. We were both hovering and then Dee got dealt quad queens and also popped a few sets of aces as well as various other quads. I also scored a set of aces and some quads as well as a few nice dealt winners. Things leveled off after this until Dee had a 3 card hold for a royal draw and scored one on line 10 for a $1000 hit. We continued to pound away and the quads kept coming. By the end of the session we had a dealt quad, 5 sets of aces and a royal between us and walked out of there with about a $1600 profit and a major turn around for the trip.

They also had a promo running for earning 500 points you got you pick a card out of a gas can that could be for free play or a gas card. I won a whopping $5 in free play that we ran though quickly on a penny slot without much action.

We got back to the Flamingo around 1am and went to bed.

Total win/loss for the day $1650
Total Comps for the day $790
