HAPPY I N D E P E N D E N C E   D A Y TO MY AMERICAN READERS

No pool today but we started with breakfast at the Flamingo Buffet. This is probably the lowest quality buffet in all of the Harrah's properties and at $15 for breakfast I'd say to avoid it and go to one of the other breakfast buffets in the area.

Dee wanted to show Rick and Wendy Primm today for a few reasons. First was for the outlet malls but also because last year they booked a package deal with flight and hotel that was cheaper than just the flights and their room was supposed to be at Whisky Pete's (we put them up at Silverton with us on that trip). They were shocked at how far it was from the strip. When we got here they signed up for cards at Primm Valley Resort (Terrible's owns these places) and each got a coupon for a free buffet. Since we had just eaten an hour ago we didn't need those but they gave them to me and Dee since they were good until December 31 in case we make the drive here next trip. It can also be used for a $10 credit at Denny's or any of the coffee shops. We walked the mall and then drove over to Buffalo Bill's so they could see the roller coaster over there before heading out.

On the way back to the Flamingo we all talked about having a nice dinner and thought the Range at Harrah's would be a good idea. When we got back to the hotel Dee called to make reservations for The Range Steakhouse for 5:30pm when they opened. We changed our clothes and headed over there. I've never been here in all my years but have heard good things about it. They were running a happy hour special that offered a salad, entree and dessert for $40. We all had the 10oz prime rib and I thought it was one of the better ones I've ever had. The menu is typically a la carte here but this meal came with a small serving of mashed potatoes and vegetables as well. I thought it was a good deal for what we got and normally a 14oz prime rib runs $42 and doesn't come with anything extra. For dessert we had Cremsicle gelato that came with the meal. After a good meal we paid with points and headed to the showroom.

Tonight we had tickets to see Legends in Concert that we got for free for being diamond card holders. We had a small table that normally seats 6 but we had it to ourselves. I'll still never understand why they put tables perpendicular to the stage with seats facing the opposite direction of the stage so you have to turn and contort yourself to see the show. Rick and Wendy had never seen this show but Dee and I have. One good thing about this show is it changes regularly depending on which "Legend” is in the show. Tonight the show kicked off with Stevie Wonder followed by Steven Tyler, Bobby Darin and Lady Gaga. The show was finished off with Elvis. I think the show is decent but pricey at $50 and only runs about 70 minutes. For the same price I'd have to recommend Human Nature.

After the show things got funny. We headed back to the Flamingo to catch fireworks at Caesars at 9pm. At about 9:30 Dee was wondering why they weren't going off yet so I looked it up online to get the real start time. The 9pm start time was correct but we were a day late. The fireworks were last night on the strip and tonight the Stations properties were running them at 5 of their casinos. We were able to see some of those from the room but they were far away. After good laugh Rick and Wendy left and we caught Monday Night Raw on the USA Network from the event we were at last week. It was interesting to see how much of this show was edited out for TV compared to what we saw.

I went to bed after RAW was over.

Total win/loss for the day $0
Total Comps for the day $720
