Day 15
Tuesday July 5, 2011
Today is moving day again and also time for Rick and Wendy to head back home. Their flight was scheduled for noon so we were all up early and got our things together and met for one last breakfast at the Island Breeze Cafe. There was no line so we didn't get to skip the line. I hate the prices of food on the strip. I had bacon and eggs and it was like $13. Dee had a breakfast platter that had French Toast Casserole, bacon, sausage and eggs. It was too much food and it too was about $14. Between the 4 of us we topped $68, for breakfast. This is absurd. One thing to note about this cafe (I'm not sure of other cafe's in the Harrah's/Caesars empire do this) is if you have a Total Rewards card you get $1 off of almost everything on the menu.

After breakfast we headed out. We dropped off Rick and Wendy at the airport and waited with them until they went through security. There weren't any lines for them to check in but on the way in we saw the security line was long so we sent them on their way so they could make it through.

We left the airport and went over to Mandalay Bay. Dee's boss was in town and we planned to meet with them for lunch. We played a few penny slots here to pass the time while we waited for them. I ended up only losing 52¢ but Dee lost $20. We finally all met up and went over to Silverton for lunch at the Sundance Grill. I had the BBQ Pork and Dee had a fruit platter. The food was good and I thought the service was 1000X better then it was last week when I came here with Anne & Steve. We gave Dee's boss and wife a tour of Silverton and then took them back to Mandalay Bay.

From Mandalay Bay it was out to Henderson and onto 95 for the trip back to Laughlin. This time we'll be spending a little more than 24 hours there as this trip is planned for 5 nights. I booked this room through our host. I also have $175 in free play from my mailer and Dee has $20 from hers. It doesn't make any sense why her mailer dropped by 50% from last months since we had no play since the Christmas trip. We also got $50 each from our host as an anniversary gift.

We rolled into the Aquarius at 3:30pm and were able to check right in. We were assigned room 4068 and thought it was funny that 2 trips in a row we were on the 4th floor and a few doors down from where we were last week. When we got towards the end of the hallway I realized we weren't in a regular room but we were in a giant suite at the end of the hallway overlooking the river like we had last year on our honeymoon. These rooms are the double door rooms at the ends of the hallways over looking the river. You enter into the living room area. To the right is a bar area with sink, double cup coffee maker and fridge. Farther to the right is a guest bathroom with a toilet and a sink. There's a large dining table in the area across from the bar. In the center off the room is the living room area with a couch, 2 arm chairs and a coffee table. There's a 42 inch TV and a dresser on the far wall and a work desk to the left of the entrance. The bedroom is in its own room making this a true suite. The bedroom is very similar to the standard rooms here with a king bed, night stands, chair, work desk, dresser and 32" flat screen TV. The bathroom is about twice the size of the bathrooms in the standard rooms but had no real extras in it other than the extra long vanity area. Both of the rooms have views of the Colorado River but no view of the rest of Laughlin because of the location of the suites at the end of the building. Along with the river you can also see across to Arizona and there's a great view of the mountains. There's also an amazing view of The Home Depot too! Dee was super excited and we got our things from the bellman and got settled in and then rested for a while. When we got up we hit the buffet because the cafe now closes at 2pm during the week. I think this is VERY lame but what are we to do. Tonight was Italian night and the buffet was $13 before the slot card discount. This buffet also comes with beer, wine and margaritas.

After eating too much again we hit the VP machines. The machines we like were occupied so we took a shot at $1 video poker. I was dealt 2 different quads and was hovering while Dee was hovering as well. Things got a bit choppy but then Dee nailed a set of aces for $400. I hit them shortly after but it was only enough to keep us playing. We were ahead just a little bit and were able to keep playing along.

We moved over to the quarter triple play machines and played for quite a while but couldn't seem to get any dealt winners. We both hit a few quads to keep us going before we lost. After VP We both played $20 in some penny games. I had no luck at all but Dee hit a cool bonus round on her machine and had a nice score afterwards. In the end we lost and called it a night.

Total win/loss for the day $100
Total Comps for the day $438
