Day 16

We slept in today and just chilled for a while before going to Cafe Aquarius for breakfast. Dee had the Aquarius Omelet and I had the Prime rib Sliders with French fries. After breakfast/lunch we came back up here to the room and chilled out and that's actually where we are in this report right now.

Dee wasn't feeling well so took a nap. I joined in later on and we just chilled for the afternoon.

For dinner we ordered room service. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich and Dee got a Rueben. They told us on the phone it would be 45 minutes to an hour. Normally it's here 20 minutes sooner than they say but tonight it took 90 minutes to get 2 sandwiches. The food was good though and we caught the end of the Yankee game while we ate.

We went downstairs for some video poker action after dinner and things weren't good. We dropped $500 between us and didn't get that much play.

We decided to take a walk on the Riverwalk and head down to the Golden Nugget. Even though the mailer hadn't arrived yet I was pretty sure I had $50 in free play waiting for me down there. When we arrived I found that I did indeed have $50 in free play. I ran it through a few penny slots with very little luck. Dee also burned through a 20 pretty quickly. I wanted to play blackjack after this and Dee went in search of some slots that would pay. I thought this blackjack table was going to be a nightmare after the first 3 hands but things turned around and we were all winning and the dealer was breaking often enough. My key turning point was a 3 way split of deuces on one of my hands and a double down on the other (I was playing 2 hands). In the end the dealer broke and things stayed good for a while. Dee came by and was up a few bucks on her ticket so all was well. I played a bit longer and cashed out with a $650 win. I found Dee and she was up $35 and offset her loss from earlier. We got out of the Golden Nugget with a nice chunk of what WAS their money.

We came back to the VP machines here at the Aquarius after we left the Golden Nugget and things weren't good for us again. We did get a little more play than we did earlier but in the end dropped a few more bucks.

We finally called it a night around 1am and had our first losing day in a week.
