Day 20
Sunday July 10, 2011
We were up early this morning again so we could hit the pool one more time. We stayed here for about an hour and then went to the room and got cleaned up for breakfast.

We went to the buffet again to use the second half of our special voucher. They had the special section again and the "bonus" foods as well. The foods were once again standard issue for this buffet.

After breakfast we went up to the room to gather the rest of our things as our trip to Laughlin comes to an end today and the entire trip is getting short now. Once we settled up at check out we hit the road heading back to Las Vegas for our final 2 nights of this big trip. We were supposed to stay at Red Rock for the rest of the trip. I booked this room through a host here and he comped us 2 nights up front. In the past I had a bad experience with a host at this property and swore it off. That was until my old host that used to take care of me at the Hard Rock moved here. He'd been trying to get me out here for quite a while now so I e-mailed him only to get a reply from someone totally different (at least I got a reply) telling me he was my new host and he'd call me in a few days. In conversation he said my host was no longer there and he'd be looking after me. He too came from the Hard Rock so we talked and I told him about the past problems with another host at Red Rock. He assured me it wasn't going to happen again so I went ahead and booked the 2 nights with him being clear that my play would be lower than normal because we'd really only be there for about a day and a half in total.

We decided to cancel this room at Red Rock about a week ago for fear of losing everything we were already up by playing enough to satisfy my host. Instead of dealing with that I booked the July offer at Sam's Town on Dee's request. She really enjoyed the property on the first leg of our trip. This offer is identical to the offer we had in June with 3 nights (we only need 2), $75 in free play and a silver card covering meals in some of their restaurants.

The ride back to Las Vegas was interesting with storms all around us but never actually driving through them. Before going to Sam's Town we stopped off at the Laundromat to drop off some laundry again. Even though we are going home in a few days we still dropped everything off so when we get home we don't have to do a ton of laundry.

We pulled into Sam's Town at about 2pm and checked in at the Emerald line with no issues. We were assigned room 570. Today the front desk guy tried to sell us on an upgrade but we kept what we booked. This room isn't as nice as the one we had a few weeks ago. It has a king bed with nightstands, a small sitting area with table and arm chairs, work desk, TV cabinet/dresser combo and an old 27" TV. The bathroom has a long vanity with only 1 sink, toilet and bathtub. The view is of the park but we are behind Mystic Falls so the views aren't as good as last time either.

We dropped our stuff in the room and went to the Sportsbook Deli for a quick snack. We didn't want to eat too much because we had dinner plans later on. We both had a bowl of soup and split an order of Pork Egg Rolls. The food was quick and good except the egg rolls not being heated all of the way through and we were off to the casino to play.

We hit the single line machines and I started off like wildfire getting lots of full houses and got up $50 without hitting a quad. Dee was on quad fire and in her group hit 4 sets of 10's to keep her alive. In the end the lack of quads for me had me dumping $100 but Dee cashed out up $100 for an even session.

For dinner we met up with our friends Norm and Andrea at Willy and Jose's. I had the 3 Taco combo and Dee had a dish with chicken, shrimp and beef. For dessert we had the Chocolate Tacos which are nothing more than a Good Humor ChocoTaco. All the food here was good and our server Maverick was fun. After dinner we parted ways with Norm and Andrea and hit the video poker machines. We decided to take it easy and play single line again. I used my $75 free play initially turning it into $100 before losing it all. Dee held pretty even for the session and lost $25. We played some penny slots after this. I tried the new Star Wars ones but didn't really care for them. I scored a bonus round that brought me close to even and went to see what Dee was up to. She won back most of the $25 she lost on video poker.

Even though it was early we decided to pack it in for the night. For some reason we were both tired and it was a good way to protect the gains we still had.

Total win/loss for the day - $100
Total Comps for the day $194
