Day 5
Wednesday August 1, 2012
We initially had an early start today but shortly after we got up I needed to get back to bed. This congestion was kicking my ass so I hit the bed. Dee sat in bed and watched TV and read her book while I slept for the next few hours. Once we were up and ready to roll we started with lunch/breakfast at Cafe Aquarius. I had a bowl of chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese with Swiss, cheddar and parmesan crusted sourdough bread. This also came with fries. Dee had the classic breakfast of 2 eggs, sausage, toast and hash browns. The food was good and our server took good care of us too.

After we ate we hit the video poker machines. The game was 8/5 bonus triple play. Dee was doing well hovering around even once again but I was feeding bills in one after another. Quads were far and few for me and Dee didn't hit any. She eventually lost $100 and I dropped $400 in what was a fairly short session.

To take a break from getting our asses kicked we got the car from the valet and headed over to Bullhead City or some shopping over at Beall's and Big Lots. Dee got a few items at Beall's but I struck out again. Over at Big Lots Dee got a book and some snacks.

Back over to Laughlin we went to the outlet mall and Burke's. Here Dee scored a pair of sunglasses and a pair of sweat pants for a combined price of just $1. It's was the deal of week so far!

When were finished shopping we stopped at the Dairy Queen in the food court for some ice cream before coming back to the Aquarius for another session of video poker, Things were much better this time for me popping aces twice and a few other quads. Dee dropped her first bill pretty quick but then on her next popped her first quad of the day and then got dealt quad 10's. She cashed out the ticket and started over again with a new bill. She hovered for a bit but then lost her $100. I was still plugging away on my original $100 when I held queen and 10 of spades and out of no where filled a royal flush on the bottom line for the $1000 win. Shortly after this we cashed out and ended the day with a decent win, even factoring in the ass kicking we took earlier in the day.

Dee wanted a sweatshirt to help stay warm in these frigid casinos this week so we hit the gift shop. She caught a sale on a nice zipper up for $25. I went over to the slot club booth to redeem my coupon for today's pack of smokes and got a comp slip to the gift shop so we could get this sweat shirt.

Even though it wasn't late we decided to pack it in for the night and go upstairs. I could use the extra rest to battle this cold.

Total win/loss for the day $450
Total Comps for the day $95
