Day 6
Thursday August 2, 2012
Today we got up a little early. We got ready and hit the casino at a little after 9 to hit the video poker machines. Things were up and down here for me this morning and Dee was struggling to stay alive as well. We both burned through a bill rather quickly. The next bill did better for us. Dee scored a dealt set of 10's and I hit a few quads. By the end of the session we had lost $100 and it was time for breakfast.

Breakfast this morning was at Cafe Aquarius again. We both ordered the gambler's special which offers a choice of pancakes, French toast or waffles, bacon, sausage or corned beef hash and 2 eggs any style. Dee got French toast, sausage and over easy eggs. I got pancakes, hash and over easy eggs. Everything was good and our server Mindy, who we had yesterday checked on us regularly.

After breakfast we went across the street to Family Dollar to grab a few essentials before coming back to the room or a break. I wasn't expecting to but, I fell asleep for over 2 hours. This cold must be kicking my ass a lot more than I thought it was. I felt pretty good after that nap and we hit the casino again when we got up.

We hit the triple plays again and this time I started out getting killed. I only got about $300 in action out of the first $100 bill. Dee's luck wasn't much better. I had a bit of a turn around on my next bill and Dee continued to struggle and needed another bill. Eventually she had a nice turn around popping a set of aces and then a few other quads and dealt winners. I was hitting a good number of quads to keep steady. Dee's meter continued to rise until she was finally up by $2.50 and I was up $1.25 for the session. It's not a big win but the results this session were pretty good considering the start we both had.

Next up was a stop at the fitness center. It's good for Dee to get some extra exercise in her recovery and it doesn't hurt me any to get some either. We spent about an hour down there before coming up to the room to get cleaned up and then hit the casino again for another session of video poker.

Once again we hit the triple plays and this time set a $100 loss limit or each of us. This made the session quite short as neither of us could hit anything. Between us we only ran about 1k through the machines in this short session.

Dinner time took us back to Cafe Aquarius. Dee had some chili cheese fries and the soup and half sandwich combo. I tried the prime rib special. This special comes with mashed potatoes, vegetables, a dinner roll and ice cream. Dee said her food was good but I have to say this was one of the worst prime rib dinners I've had in a long time.

Dee's meal didn't come with dessert and rather than wait for one in the cafe I took her over to McDonald's and got her an M & M McFlurry and then it was on to another round of video poker.

Dee started off her session by popping aces in one of her first hands. She was able to play through on this win her whole session. I was streaky but hit a few quads. It wasn't enough though. One thing I've been doing is when I get down to the last $20 I switch over to double-double bonus hoping to score a quad. It worked once this session and I got a little more action out of the first bill but the second time it didn't work. I popped in another bill and got quite a bit of play all while Dee was still hovering on her aces win. Again I got down to the last $20 of this bill and switched over to double-double. This time it really worked when I nailed quad threes and a kicker for $200 putting me even. I kept plugging along and then started losing. I finished my session down $100 but Dee finished up about $175 so it was a decent session and we got a good amount of play. This was a good way to end the day and we came up to the room to wrap up the day.

Total win/loss for the day -$250
Total Comps for the day $94
