Day 7
Friday August 3, 2012
We finished packing up our things and it was time to check out. Today we'll be heading back up to Las Vegas. We got on the road around 12:30. The drive was smooth sailing the whole way. We stopped off in Henderson to drop off our laundry for fluff and fold service and then finished the drive downtown to Main Street Station where we'd be spending the next 4 nights. I booked this room though host Ipo and used my mailer that was good for 4 nights, $75 free play and a food coupon book. My play qualifies us for a silver card so the food coupon book will be swapped out for that. A silver card is good for meals at all of the non gourmet Boyd owned restaurants downtown. It's essentially LRFB. We like the convenience of it and the ability to go to any restaurant downtown without getting a comp slip.

For the last few visit in the past, when we get here the room Ipo blocked for us is never ready. Today was different though. Room 1707 was available and ready for us to enter. When we got there the first thing I noticed was the new dresser with fridge and new 32" flat screen TV. The room also had 2 queen beds, nightstand, a table and 2 chairs, and work desk. There's view of downtown and the strip. The bathroom is standard Main Street Station with the vanity outside and the toilet and tub inside.

We threw our things into the room and then headed over to the California for an early dinner. There was no wait here today which is odd. We were seated right away and I noticed the daily specials menu had changed. Most of our favorites were no longer being offered. Dee ordered one of her main menu favorites the spaghetti and meat sauce and I ordered my old standby the hot open turkey. One thing I can say about the cafe here is it's always been consistent.

We came back to the room after dinner and rested a bit while I organized our things. For the first week we've been away from home our suitcases have been pretty disheveled.

Dee wasn't feeling too hot after this so just wanted to rest. I went down to the casino to get in some play. The triple plays were empty so I started off there. Things were not good here at all. I was down almost 2 bills in less than 15 minutes. Like I've been doing I made the switch to double-double and even selected 10 plays this time with my last $25. On my 3rd hand I got dealt a full house and things looked good, but I had to break it up because there were 3 aces. It's tough to give up 450 coins for what could end up being 150 but this time it worked because on line 2 I popped a set of aces. I switched back to regular bonus after this and got quite a bit more play hitting some more quads and getting more dealt winners. I cashed out the session with a $100 which was a huge deal after being down almost $200 in so little time. I ended the night with 6 scratch cards and all were for $2 for an extra $12 in cash.

I was hungry so ran over to the Cal Snack Bar and grabbed a bowl of Saiman Noodles to go. I came back to the room and Dee was sleeping. I set her up with her meds for the night and the morning and ate my snack and tried to find something to watch on a few TV channels we have here at Main Street Station.

Total win/loss for the day $100
Total Comps for the day $88
