Day 9
Sunday August 5, 2012
We got up today and lounged around for a while and then hit the Grand Cafe for breakfast/lunch. Dee got the veggie omelet and I got the crispy chicken sandwich. I thought the sandwich had good flavor but was a rip when it only seemed to consist of 3 chicken fingers cut up. It also came with fries.

We played another session of video poker after breakfast and I got my ass handed to me. I dropped 4 bills and never hit a quad, although I did pull a straight flush. I got low paired to death and as far as dealt winners, there were not many. I got one flush, and three 3 of a kinds and that was the best of it. I can't recall dropping $400 so fast on quarter triple play. I've had sessions at the dollar level that weren't this bad. Dee had some better luck hitting a quad right away and then getting dealt quad jacks. This kept her playing the whole time and she cashed out with a $50 win. Between us we dropped $350 and only got 3k in action.

On the way back to the room we stopped off at the gift shop and got Dee a pink Las Vegas sweatshirt. It was a rip at $25 but I've got a ton of old Stations points that are only good for comp value so I burned some of those to get the shirt.

We came back up to the room and grabbed our things and headed out. Even though the room offer was for 2 nights we wouldn't be staying here tonight. On the way back to Main Street Station we stopped off in Henderson to pick up our laundry and then shot back downtown.

When we got back to Main Street Station I called Yahtzee Mike and we set up to meet here at 5pm. This worked out for us because we needed to run over to Walgreen's to grab an item or two. They didn't have what we were looking for but it was still a chance to get out on Fremont Street to check out the freaks.

Back home at Main Street Station we hit the casino for some more video poker action. We hit the triple play again and were playing along when Mike and Debbie arrived. Me and Dee played a little longer while we all chatted and then Dee yells out, "Hey, I got it!". I looked over expecting to see a quad and instead I saw a royal! This was a big help to the bankroll after this morning's ass kicking! She collected her scratch card that was for $2 and we cashed out and went to dinner.

We chose the Triple 7 Brew Pub tonight. Everyone got the Taco Salad except for me. I got my favorite filet mignon sandwich with fries. This has always been one of my top choices here but last time it had gone downhill quite a bit in quality. Today the quality was back but the size had shrunk a bit. It was a pretty petite filet if I do say so. It was still good though.

In the brew pub and the casino it was freezing so we all went outside for a few minutes to warm up. It was over 100 degrees today but it felt good to get out of the freezer!

When we warmed up I went to the B Connected booth to activate my $75 free play that came with my room offer and we were off to play. We chose some penny games for a change of pace. We played for a while. Mike was doing really well and Dee was hovering at +/- $1 most of the time. I lost a few bucks but noting major. Mike and Debbie were going to head back to the 4 Queens where they were based and we said our goodbyes until the next trip.

We went back to the triple plays for some more video poker. There was nothing major happening here for us. I did get caught up on my lack of quads from earlier in the day but Dee struggled before things started happening for her. At the end of the session we had played for close to 2 hours. I dropped $100 and Dee dropped $125. We had 13 quads between us and all of the scratch cards were once again for $2.

I wanted to run my $75 free play through one time at this point in the day but it wasn't on my card. I went back to the booth and the same girl was still there and she fixed it up. I found a single line machine and the plan was to play just 60 hands and cash the difference. While I was playing I realized I was on a coin dropper machine. Ugh, I can't believe we used to do this all of the time before ticket in - ticket out machines. I was able to run this $75 of free play into $70 cash so that was a pretty good run to end the day with.

I got Dee up to the room and then ran over to the Cal Snack Bar to get a night time snack and a few cakes to munch on in the morning. I went with the Saiman again and an order of egg rolls for tonight and a couple of Bavarian Cream cakes and orange juices for the morning. The egg rolls and soup were good and I wound down the night watching some Olympics on TV.

Total win/loss for the day $450
Total Comps for the day $261
