Day 19
Wednesday August 15, 2012
Today started off with a trip to the fitness center to burn off some of the excess calories we've been partaking. After a short but productive workout we hit the pool area for about an hour. The pool here is nothing special and the pool area is not large but it does the trick.

After we baked ourselves we came back here to the room to get ready for the day and then it was time go out.

We started the day with lunch at the Noodle Exchange here at the Gold Coast. This is one of our favorite places here at the Gold Coast. I had the lemon chicken lunch special and Dee tried it too. The wait times here for the food to come out can be long at times and today was just the opposite. Everything came out quickly and the meal was excellent. Dee really enjoyed hers too and was surprised at how good it was.

We headed out after lunch to pick up the laundry we dropped off yesterday and then went over to M. We haven't been to M in about a year and a half. The reason to go here today was to see if our points are still active and to try to get back onto their mailing list which we seem to have fallen off of. When we got there I was not happy to see that our points were zero. I know every casino has rules about inactivity but I've never had an account zeroed out and I've had some accounts that were inactive for over 5 years.

We played a short session hoping the account would update when we entered our cards. Dee had absolutely no luck and I wasn't doing much better. She dropped a bill and I dropped $50.

We went to the booth to talk to them about the missing points and the boothling sent us to a supervisor. He seemed like he wanted to help but had no power to fix anything. He went into the back and when he came out said someone from marketing would call tomorrow and took my information. I'm laying odds on whether or not I'll ever hear from M or not.

We left M and went to South Point. We played some 9/6 jacks or better triple play. I was hitting quite a few quads and getting some dealt winners and Dee was hovering. She was lucky enough to score quad aces but we were only playing jacks or better. That was a bummer. We lost a little here but got some good play in when we decided to quit and get something to eat.

We decided to go to Steak and Shake for some burgers and because it was the first time we'd even been here before that the line wasn't out the door and wrapped around the casino. We've both had Steak and Shake before down in Florida and actually like it. When we arrived we were seated right away and quickly decided on what we both were going to order. Then we sat there and sat there and sat there while numerous employees walked past our table and numerous employees stood behind the counter doing nothing. Dee, who is normally pretty patient, was getting aggravated finally lost it after 15 minutes of being ignored and we left. On the way out the hostess acknowledged us leaving but didn't try to stop us.

Instead of Steak and Shake we went to the Coronado Cafe for dinner. Things were a little better here and we were served in a normal amount of time. Dee ordered the spaghetti and meat sauce and a side salad. I ordered the trio of filet sliders with potato chips. The sandwiches were good but for an entree seemed a little small. A 4th slider would have made this meal perfect. Dee thought her food was good as well.

We came back here to the Gold Coast to take a break and get ready for the evening and headed back out across the street to the Rio to go and see Penn and Teller. We both enjoyed the show and some of the bits they do are pretty interesting and will leave you sitting there wondering how the hell they do it. After the show they also do a meet and greet out in the hallway. It still amazes me how star struck people get. It was difficult to get out of there because of the bottleneck it causes. While we both enjoyed the show we both agreed that had we paid full pop for these tickets we would have felt short changed. In our case they were comped and there are 2 for 1 tickets available all over town, so don't get hosed if you want to go to this show.

We finally got out of the Rio and came back to the Gold Coast for some video poker action. We hit the triple plays for a while and Dee scored quad aces for the second time today. This time they actually counted though. We didn't get much play in tonight and I lost. Dee's aces kept her even for the session and then cashed out.

On the way back to the room we stopped at a penny Grease machine and played for some fun. We have been doing pretty well on this the past week but tonight was the exception. We didn't get any bonus rounds and the regular spins weren't keeping us going and for the first time this trip lost on this game.

It was now going on 2am and we were both tired and wrapped it up.

Total win/loss for the day -$550
Total Comps for the day $262
