Day 20
Thursday August 16, 2012
This morning we slept in pretty late. I ran down to Java Vegas for some pastries and coffee. Once we finally got moving we hit the gym for an hour to work off some calories. This also helps in Dee's rehab so she can get rid of the wheelchair.

We came back to he room to get ready for the day and then to hit the casino. We had dinner plans later on but we had about an hour to play here before we had to leave. We played the triple plays again. Dee was hovering for the most part as always. I was getting quite a few quads including a dealt quad but between those, I was getting killed. On my last few dollars I switched over to double-double and scored a quad and went back to bonus. This kept me going for a while but there was just no luck here today. We dropped $300 between us with very little play.

It was time to head out for dinner with our friend Anne over at Silverton. We got there a little early and I put a 20 into a Wheel of Fortune machine. I had a complete lack of luck here and dropped the whole $20 with only 4 hits. Two of those were only a cherry for 4 coins. I don't play these often and now I remember why!

For dinner we met up at the Sundance Grill. Anne was there already with her son Jason and our friend Stacy was there as well. I ordered the chicken fried steak and Dee had a big breakfast special that included 2 eggs, 2 toast, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 pancakes and hash browns. Her food was good and mine was too with exception of the country gravy which was too thick and almost like paste. We had a good time here tonight with friends and a good meal.

After dinner we all split up and me and Dee hit the video poker machines. We wanted to play the hundred plays but they were taken so we went to the 10 plays that we've done well on in the past. I was doing well hitting my fair share of quads. I wasn't getting enough dealt winners to keep alive but the quads were making a difference. Dee was hovering for a while but then lost her first bill. We cashed out with Dee down $94 and me up $91 so it wasn't a terrible session.

We switched over to the hundred plays because they were now available. We only played 50 hands because 100 hands is a little too rich for us at nickels. Dee really enjoys playing these and they are quite fun. We got quite a bit of play out of these but could not get any dealt winners. The best dealt hand either one of us got was a straight. The highlight of the session was when I held a lone ace and scored a royal flush on line 21. Only one other time in my life have I ever hit a royal holding one card and that was also on a 50 play machine. We played a little longer and cashed out with a decent win between us.

I still had $75 in free play available. Since we were already up for the session I decided I'd just churn it through once and take whatever was left. I chose a $1 8/5 bonus machine hoping that maybe I'd hit a quad but even a full house would be nice. The plan was to play exactly 15 hands and cash out whatever was left. I didn't hit much of anything along the way and on hand number 15 I had $50 left on the meter. I held 2 cards to a royal but didn't hit it. That would have been too cool. Instead I landed a straight flush to the king for $250 and cashed out with another $300. We walked out of the Silverton with a $500 win.

This month they are running a promo where if you earn a certain amount of points you get a pull tab offering various prizes including cruises, meals, free play and more. I got my tab and scored $20 in free play. We ran this through one of Dee's favorite penny games with no luck at all. We turned this $20 into about 6 bucks!

When we left the Silverton we headed over to Anne's house. She had forgotten to bring our tote full of stuff that we store at her house and we ran over there to grab it. There isn't much left in it and the real plan was to dismantle it this trip as we don't use much of the stuff that's in there anymore. We grabbed that and came back to the Gold Coast.

When we got back it was getting late and we were actually in the mood for a snack. The late night food offerings here are pretty weak so we had to go to TGIFridays. We ordered a trio sampler that comes with mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, potato skins, and celery sticks. The food was good and did the trick.

It was getting late and tomorrow was not only moving day, it was flying day. We came back up to the room and started packing our stuff for tomorrow. We packed one bag with the things we'd be taking with us and loaded up the other bag with the things we didn't need. This didn’t take long and we were pretty well set for the morning other than for our toiletries.

Total win/loss for the day $200
Total Comps for the day $208
