Day 24

After that we got ready for our day and started with breakfast at the American River Cafe. We both had the Country River Breakfast consisting of pancakes or Cinnamon Raisin French Toast, Bacon or sausage and 2 eggs any style. We both got the eggs over easy with sausage. Dee got pancakes and I got the French toast. The food was good and filled us up and we were off to start the day.

We were going to go over to Harvey's and instead took a walk into California past all of the shops. It's been so long since I've been here that none of this stuff was here back then. We made it over to Harvey's and found the machines we were on last night were open so took a seat. The game was 8/5 bonus for halves again. Things were pretty good here this morning for Dee and as always she hovered. I was hovering as well and then scored quad deuces. Once I hit that quad though I started to bleed. I got down to $25 in credits and switched over to double-double for my Hail Mary. I got lucky here and scored quad threes with a kicker for 800 coins. I switched back to bonus and a few hands later hit quad aces. Dee continued to hover and hit a few quads as well. We cashed out this session up about $250.

Dee spotted a hundred play machine and we stuck a $50 ticket into it. It had a horrible pay table but we got to play for quite a while running the meter up and down and cashed out with a $2 win!

We played a bunch of penny slots after this and hopped around the casino. We didn't hit much of anything but got to play for a while losing $40 in the process.

It was time to come to the room for break after playing. We were up late last night and up early today so a nap was in order.

For dinner we tried the Asian restaurant here called Gi Fu Loh. The food here is served "family style" and the portions are large enough to share. We tried the wild mushroom noodle soup and the BBQ pork fried rice. The food here was really tasty and filled us up.

Now for a funny story. This restaurant is on the second floor and when we left we were waiting for the elevator to arrive. When it did there was a lady in there already on her way to the casino. Dee commented that she liked her top. The lady was thrilled and then commented "Thanks, we were going to go to dinner but Gary got drunk". She quickly corrected herself and said he was ok, he was in the shower but she was going to the casino to gamble. We joked about this Gary guy quite a bit from this point on.

After dinner we went back over to Harvey's to the same machines we played this morning. I popped quad deuces right away and hovered for a while. Then the bleeding started and not only did I lose the deuces money, I lost my original bill. Of course you know without me telling you that Dee hovered the whole time, also hitting deuces and some other quads. I fed another bill into my machine and plugged away. I hit deuces again getting me back to even. This was followed by a bunch of full houses and quad jacks getting the meter up to $300. Yes, Dee was still hovering and then nailed a set of aces. I started to lose and figured I'd quit even when my meter went back down to $200. When I was at $225 I switched to double-double again. I played for a while on this last $25 and then popped quad fours with an ace kicker for a nice 800 coin pay off. A few minutes later Dee hit aces again. We played a little longer and Dee continued to hover and all this while still playing on her original bill. By the time it was all over we cashed out with a nice $900 victory over the casino and came back over here to Harrah's.

For a late night snack we hit the American River Cafe for some desserts. Dee got chocolate cake and I got an ice cream sundae. We each split them and got loaded up on sugar before coming up here to the room to wrap up another day.
