Day 26
Wednesday August 22, 2012
We were up early today but took it easy in the room for a few hours. We started off the day around 11 with lunch at the buffet. This buffet is average at best and even that is giving it a high mark. It amazes me that Boyd Gaming, who has some of the better buffets in town has such a poor buffet here.

We started off the gaming day with some half dollar video poker. Things weren't very good here to start off. I dropped a bill and didn't get much play. Dee was hovering and holding her own but wasn't hitting any quads. I popped in another bill and nailed a set of aces to go up by $100 but it wasn't enough. Not only did I drop the aces money, I dropped everything. Dee got beat up by this time too and we switched to another bank on the other side of the casino. Over here things weren't much better. I scored a straight flush and a quad only to finish the session even and Dee dropped another bill without any quads at all. I also loaded my $100 free play that came with the room for her and that disappeared too.

We had to give up on the halves for the day because of the ass kicking we were taking and moved upstairs to the progressive quarter bank with 9/6 jacks or better. I was hitting quads but Dee still wasn't hitting any quads. She dropped another bill up here but we did get quite a bit of play. I am amazed at how she can go quadless and play for so long and I hit quads one after another and still have to feed in bill after bill.

We took a break to get something to eat over at the sports book deli. We shared an order of egg rolls and Dee got a bowl of chili. I tried the loco moco for something a little different. If you don't know, it's a hamburger patty, with eggs on top of it, both over rice, and smothered in brown gravy. I thought it was ok, but the burger was very salty and I couldn't eat the whole thing. Dee said the chili was excellent and the egg rolls were some of the better ones I've had here on the west coast.

Once we were energized it was back to the video poker machines. We again chose the 9/6 jacks or better progressives upstairs. I started the session off by hitting aces twice, fours twice and threes in the first 15 minutes. My only issue was we weren't playing bonus! It kept me alive and I hovered and did well. Dee struggled and her meter was up and down. We'd been playing for a good portion of the day and she still hadn't hit a quad at this point. The near misses on the royals were getting more and more frequent but we just couldn't score one tonight. We knew it was getting late because we had the entire upper level to ourselves by this time. I was holding my own and Dee, who had been hovering on the same bill all night and finally, scored her one and only quad. We packed it in shortly after this.

Today was a tough day for us on video poker. Playing at halves didn't score us much play and Dee amazingly did pretty good considering she only hit one quad all day. to show how odd that was, I know we ran 12k through the machines today, half of that was at halves and she plays a hair slower than I do so, she still ran between 5 & 6k through the machines today and only hit one quad.

It was a tough day but it' now over!

Total win/loss for the day -$600
Total Comps for the day $179
