Day 33
Wednesday August 29, 2012
This morning we got up and packed up the few things we took out for the stay here at the Riviera. Today we're moving again but the packing wasn't too bad. It's actually lugging this shit around that's a killer at times.

We rolled out of the Riviera and headed over to LVH (formerly known as the Las Vegas Hilton) to get some sports bets for the guys at work then we were off to Boulder Highway and Boulder Station.

At Boulder Station we went to the Grand Cafe for a late breakfast/early lunch. Dee got the 2 eggs skillet and a side order of pancakes. I got the turkey wrap with fries special that’s posted outside the cafe. I thought the wrap was good but a little sparse on the meat (which was real turkey, not pressed and formed deli meat) and the fries were good sprinkled with coarse salt. Dee's food was good too and she enjoyed the meal. I'm glad Stations woke up and got rid of CoCo's and brought back their cafes but they all have the same menu for the most part. While we ate Dee played 5 games of Keno and we hit a total of 3 numbers over the 5 games.

We finished lunch and then made our way to the 95 freeway. Today's trip will take us back to Laughlin where we'd be parking for the next 4 nights. The drive down was quick today and we rolled into town at about 3pm. It has been almost a month since we came down here last but as we hit Casino Drive it was almost like we never left.

Once again we're staying at Aquarius on a deal I booked through our host. The 4 nights are comped and food at the buffet and cafe was also being covered with food else where to be evaluated at checkout. When we arrived we checked in at the VIP room. Checking in was quick and we were on our way to room 11104. This is a handicapped room with a partial river view and partial view of the mountains. It's got a king bed, nightstands, sitting chair with ottoman, dining table, dresser, and 32" TV. The bathroom is standard with some extra space and bars.

We got our stuff to the room and then hit the casino for some video poker. We chose triple play again today and started to bang away. I hit a few quads right away but then nothing after that for a while and dropped below even. Dee was on a roller coaster ride going up and down over and over again. I think I hit just about every possible hand this session except a few quads and a royal. I popped a set of aces and from there other numerous quads and a straight flush. From my peak I dropped about $150 during a dry spell and quit ahead by $200. Dee wasn't as lucky as I was and dropped $150 during her session. Between the two of us we won $50 for the session and went to get something to eat.

For dinner tonight we went to Cafe Aquarius. Dee got tuna salad sandwich and I got hot open roast beef that turned out to be prime rib. My meal also came with soup or salad and I chose the cream of chicken and rice. The service here was good tonight and the meals were good except the Dee's bread was stale.

We went over to McDonald's after dinner and got a couple of small McFlurries for dessert instead of eating in the Cafe just for a change of pace.

Once we were done with dinner we hit the casino again for more video poker action. This time we played triple play again. Dee was again on a roller coaster ride and while she did hover for a while just wasn't getting the quads and dealt winners she needed to survive. I was doing little better hitting quads but the dealt hands were sparse. I was up and down like a roller coaster this time and got lucky and cashed out even.

All in all we got a lot of action in today and the losses were minimal. It was now midnight and we went up to the room to call it a night. When we walked in I saw a gift basket on the dresser full of snacks and water from our casino host. She's pretty good to us here and she is much appreciated.

Total win/loss for the day - $150
Total Comps for the day $70
