Day 38
Monday September 3, 2012
Happy Labor Day to my American readers
Happy Labour Day to my Canadian readers
We were up earlier than normal today and started off by having breakfast at the Courtyard Cafe. We both got the deuces wild consisting of 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 French toast and hash browns. They also brought out 2 small pieces of complimentary coffee cakes that were better than the rest of the breakfast.

We came back to the room after breakfast and I started preparing the luggage and straightening our things to make it easier later on when we pack up. While I did that Dee took care of some e-mails and stuff.

Being that today was a holiday I wanted to try to maximize on the holiday promos. There didn't seem to be too much to choose from other than multi point days at many locations. The Coast properties were running 7X and Stations was running 6 points for $1. The better choice was going to be a Coast by a slight margin. Since there isn't much for us to play here we chose the Gold Coast right down the street.

When we got there we hit the triple play machines. We didn't want to go crazy because as of right now we are up for the trip and with this pretty much being the last day of gaming, I want to assure that we go home winners this trip so will be keeping an eye on the fluctuations today.

The streaks today were roller coaster like again. Dee only hit one quad in her session with few dealt winners but having the hover power she only lost $100. I was down close to $200 even though I had hit a few quads when I did my switch to double - double for the last $20 and got dealt quad kings. I switched back to bonus and played a bit longer and cashed out even for the session and we took a lunch break.

For lunch we went tot he Noodle Exchange to grab a couple of lunch specials. Dee got the lemon chicken and I got chicken Lo Mein. When the orders came we split up the entrees so we could both have some of each. The food here was good today and the meals also come with fried rice, egg drop soup and a spring roll.

We went back to he triple play machines again after lunch and it was more of the same for Dee with no dealt winners and no quads. When she does into a quad drought, she sure goes into a quad drought! I got a few quads but ended up dropping $100 and feeding in another bill. I switched to five-play hoping for a dealt winner or two to hopefully get back up. I didn't get anything major there but did score a few more quads including my 6th set of kings for the day. Dee ended up losing $200 for the session and I was even again. I guess I had the hover power today!

We came back to the Orleans to start purging junk and packing up our good stuff for tomorrow's trip back to New York. It's really amazing tome that this trip is rapidly coming to a close.

Once that was done we went down to the casino for a little more video poker action. The first stop was to the slot club to activate a play $10 get $10 coupon and then over to the Crawfish bar to play. Dee finally hit a quad of the bonus variety but that was all for a while. She hovered on that for quite a while before the bleed started. I was doing well hitting lots of full houses and quads at regular intervals before the bleed started. Just as I thought tings were going to fall apart I got dealt quad kings yet again for my 7th set of the day. A few hands later I hit a straight flush to the king but, I couldn't complain because I held my cards trying for one. I was up $90 after this and Dee had around $20 left on her meter. I told her if she stopped at $10 we'd be even for the session and she agreed and then got dealt quad sixes and a few full houses. She ended up cashing out with a $50 loss. Once we were done I ran my $10 free play through and turned it into $8.75.

For dinner we went to the Courtyard Cafe. Dee got a club sandwich and Cajun fries and I got the prime rib dip again with Cajun fries. While we were eating we played a few games of Keno and staying with our routine hit 3 numbers in the entire 5 games. After dinner it was back up to the room and an early night around 11 because we needed to get up early tomorrow.

Total win/loss for the day - $250
Total Comps for the day $101
