Day 4
Tuesday September 24, 2013
This morning we started with breakfast over at the Cal in the Market Street Cafe. Dee got a western omelet and I got the hot open turkey. Everything was good and we were satisfied with full bellies!

It was time to hit the video poker machines again. This was a tough session with a few quads off the top but none for the rest of the time. We switched machines and did a little better with the highlight being me hitting quad deuces on back to back hands. Dealt winners were lacking and between us we only hit 9 quads dropping a few hundred.

We took a break up here in the room and I fell asleep for almost 2 hours. That was unexpected but I felt good afterward. We hit the video poker machines again for a short session and again the lack of dealt winners and quads was a killer. I managed to squeak out few quads and Dee somehow hovered and cashed out even.

For dinner we had plans to meet up with Buddha and Nancy at the Market street Cafe again. I wasn't sure what to get today but I opted for the Chinese fried chicken. This was very tasty and came with mashed potatoes, corn and some peach slices. Dee got a veggie omelet this time and is still upset her spaghetti and meat sauce is gone from the menu. The food was good but our server was a bit of a tool.

We said our good byes to Buddha and Nancy as it is their last night in town. It was good to see them again and we hope to see them again on a future trip.

Now we headed to the Strip (ugh!) to the Tropicana. The reason for going here was because I scored some complimentary tickets to see Gallagher through Goldstar. I had gotten an e-mail from them showing a number of different shows offering free tickets and this was on the list. By the time I got the e-mail and checked, there were only 2 dates left, and tonight there were only 2 tickets left. I got them! Prior to the show while we were waiting to enter the room he came up to the line and offered to take pictures with everyone. You could either have his photographer take them or you could use your own camera. I thought this was pretty cool because most performers can't be bothered. His show was funny but scaled way down compared to the past. I sort of felt bad for him to that the comedy club had less than 50 people in it and I wonder how many actually got tickets for free. We enjoyed the show but at exactly one hour, it was over. I was glad the tickets were free because there's no way I would have been happy with paying $40 to see this.

We left the Tropicana and when we got back from the show we hit the video poker machines again. The triple plays were all full so we opted for some half dollar 8/5 bonus progressives that were at $2270. We both hit a quad right away but that would be it for those. One key hand Dee got dealt 4 to a royal and on the 1 card draw she scored a 6 of hearts. What are you gonna do? In total today we only scored with 4 thirteen times and all cards were worth $2.

We cashed out even between us and headed back over to the Cal snack bar for some late night saimen, egg rolls and cookies. This little snack bar is nothing fancy but we both like the foods offered here.

Before we called it a day we played some penny games and then made a quick stop at the bar to say hello to Ronnie the bartender. We talked for a few minutes but the bar was busy and the cocktail waitresses needed his help so he had to get back to work.

We came back to the room and started packing up some of our things because we have to move tomorrow.

Total win/loss for the day -$300
Total Comps for the day $131
Total number of eff bombs for the day = 7 (Dee says she's proud of this being so low, I'm sad that I was so clean today!!)
