Day 5
Wednesday September 25, 2013
Where we got up today we got ready for the day and packed up the rest of our things.

Dee wasn't very hungry so I hit the Cal snack bar for one more comped meal on the silver card before we checked out. I ordered the chicken katsu and got Dee some vegetable egg rolls to go. The chicken comes with rice and Hawaiian macaroni salad. The food is always good here and I'm going to miss the place once we leave in a little while.

When we were done eating we grabbed our things. I checked out to confirm that I had a zero balance like I should and all went well there.

We headed to the car, and went over to the Rio. I wanted to see if I could get my September diamond tickets for Penn and Teller next Monday. Unfortunatly Penn and Teller are no longer on the list. This sucks but is ok because we were only going to go because we are going to be across the street at Gold Coast and figured, it would be something to do. I didn't get any tickets because venturing to the strip is tough with Dee in the chair.

Next up it was out on Flamingo to the 15 to the 515 beltway and down to 95 south. We were now headed to Laughlin. The drive today was tough as it was very windy. At about 2:30 we rolled into town and pulled into the parking garage at the Aquarius where we would be spending the next 5 nights. I booked this through our host who set up the 5 nights. I also had a mail offer that had $350 in free play. This was a huge amount compared to what I've been getting in the past which was $225. I only wish we were here at the end of October so I could hit them twice like I do on our summer trip. A few weeks after we booked I also got an offer in the mail for a $20,000 Slot Tournament. I have entries into this as well. I also got a mailer announcing Duet, their new coffee and wine establishment offering up some coupons for free food and drinks there.

When we arrived we checked in at the VIP check in area. Our host, who usually comes and greets us was out at a photo shoot today. We are assigned room 6104. This is a handicap room with a partial river view and partial mountain view. It's got 2 queen beds, a nightstand, dining table/work desk depending on what you want to do with it, dresser, and 32" TV. The bathroom is standard with some extra space and bars.

Once we were settled in, it was off to the gym so Dee could get a bit of a work out since she hasn't had much the last few days other than some stuff in the room. After her work out we were off to the casino.

To start we chose our favorite triple play machines. Things were good for Dee and she hit a bonus quad right away and had lots of other hits. I on the other hand was feeding bills in one after another. Things were so bad I went through one bill without hitting anything better than 3 of a kind. I moved to a different bank of machines and and even tried some dollar single line action. This was just as bad as the triple plays and I dropped another $200 here without hitting anything better than trips again. I moved back next to Dee and she was still hovering on her original bill. I tried one more time and it was more of the same. The real killer here was a getting low paired to death over and over and not being able to turn the high pairs into anything better. Dee eventually cashed out even and I had dropped $600 in less than an hour.

We took a break for dinner we went to Cafe Aquarius. I got my favorite prime rib sliders and fries and Dee got the signature chicken wrap with fries. The food was good and everything we expected.

After dinner we tried our luck with some 50¢ single line. This time things were reversed from earlier with Dee struggling to stay afloat. She fed in a few bills only hitting one quad the whole time. She did get some play out of her money but not nearly what she's used to getting. I hit a bonus quad early on and a few more regular quads after that. This session I actually cashed out even while Dee got beat up. So far it was not a good day on the gaming front.

To wrap up the day I was going to run my free play through the 9/6 jacks or better machines. When I entered my pin I saw I had an extra $30 to what I should have had. I'm ok with that. I downloaded $180 onto the machine and it was not good. I ran the full $180 through the machine with nothing better than trips again. Of the $180, I cashed out only $133. I was not pleased with this. I switched machines and loaded the other $200 onto it. Things were a little better here with some flushes and full houses but I was going way to many hands in a row without any winners. After running the $200 through this machine I had only lost about $13. Between both machines I had dropped $60 clearing only $320 of the $380 that I had available.

We cashed out our tickets and then came to the room to wrap up for the night. When we arrived there was a welcome basket full of goodies waiting for us from our casino host. This was good so we could snack and watch some TV before calling it a night.

Total win/loss for the day - $600
Total Comps for the day $455
Total number of eff bombs for the day = 13 <----- This is way too low for me!
