Day 9
Sunday September 29, 2013
We started off today with the VIP buffet again. Everything was pretty much the same as yesterday.

When we were done eating we were off to my second tournament session. I did better today than yesterday scoring over 35k but combined with yesterday I'm not sure it's going to be enough. I'll know by 5pm today.

After the tournament it was off to the video poker machines. Today we were playing on Dee's card. While we would take a small hit on points (she only gets single points, I get 4x) the goal was to hopefully have her start getting mailers again as she fell off the radar a long time ago. It was more of the same this time as every other time so far this trip. I dropped 3 bills but Dee got lucky and scored a straight flush and a set of aces for a $100 win.

We took a break up in the room and watched some football on TV. It still messes me up that football is on TV at 10am out here!

Next up was a quick trip to the gym so Dee could get on the bike again and then we were back at it on the video poker. This time it was Dee's turn to get killed hitting only 1 quad and dropping 3 bills. I was hitting a good number of quads although nothing major. I was able to get out of this session even. That's like a win these days. The true killer of these losing sessions one after another is the short time we are losing in. For example this morning we were busted out in less than 45 minutes and this afternoon we barely hit an hour. Typically we don't drop this much cash all day and now we're dropping it in a matter of minutes.

We took a break up in the room for a snack and some more football on TV and then Dee wanted to go to the Riverside to look at Rings at Ring-o-rama. They've got 1000's of rings for $10 each. Dee doesn't need anymore but likes going there and getting one every trip anyway.

When we got back from the Riverside we hit the machines again. For fun and a pot shot we played Texas Tea. Normally this is a penny or nickel game but here it was for dollars. It was 9 bucks a spin. We did well at first and had a few hits to keep alive. We hit the bonus round and scored $80 on that. We continued to play and then got the dividend bonus of $135 and cashed out with a $100 win. It was kind of fun playing a penny game for dollars!

Next up was video poker. This time I took a shot and a change of pace with deuces wild five play. The pay table isn't very good but nothing has been good so far. Things were decent for me from the start and I was quickly up $100. One sad thing was hitting 4 aces on my second hand for a whopping 20 coins. One key hand was being dealt 3 deuces. Too bad it didn't fill in a 4th one but I scored a dirty royal and 3 straight flushes. I was hovering and getting quite a bit of play and then holding 2 deuces I scored all four on line 4. I continued to play for a bit and then cashed out with a $300 win, one of the largest of the trip. Dee was getting beaten up a bit and dropped a bill in a hurry. She scored some quads and was almost back to even but then in near record time, lost that hundred. She quit down just $100 but combined we were up for the session.

For dinner we went to Outback. We started with the Blooming Onion which is pretty good, and this is coming from a guy that doesn't like onions very much. Dee got a cheeseburger and I got pork tenderloin. This was a very tasty dish and I liked it quite a bit. We finished off with mini strawberry shakes.

We hit the casino again and Dee wanted to play the penny 50 plays. I played 5 play a few machines down. She was doing well and not hurting the bankroll too bad playing for pennies, even though the pay table is awful. I started off strong with a bunch of full houses and dealt trips. Oddly, that would be the best hand I'd be dealt the whole time I played. I popped a few quads including 2 sets of deuces on one hand. If only I were still playing deuces. I continued to do well running the meter up close to $300 but things got rough and I walked with a $100 win. Dee's loss was only about $20 so that wasn't bad considering we played for almost an hour.

We came up to the room to end the day when I realized I hadn't checked the scores of the tournament. I ran down to find out I only had about ½ of what was needed to win and came in 234th out of almost 500 entries. It took over 77000 points just to get into the money.

I wrapped up the day with some packing up because it is our last night here. At about 12:30am it was officially bedtime!

Total win/loss for the day - $100
Total Comps for the day $111
Total number of eff bombs for the day = 14
