Day 12
Wednesday October 2, 2013
Today we had a quick in room breakfast again of fruit and pastry and then headed out. Today's journey would take us to Silverton. Dee got a free play offer of $250 based on her action last time we were here. Today's plan is to play some action on the 100 play machines and hopefully run similar coin in through the machines. This was a tough session at first. We were both in for $300 with very few hits. Things got a little better after that when I was dealt a high pair with 4 to a royal and I hit our first royal of the trip on line 81. Things were good for a while with Dee getting a couple of dealt straights, and each of us getting a dealt full house. A few other key hands were each of us getting dealt 3 aces and scoring 5 sets, Dee getting a dealt trip threes and scoring 8 sets of quads. Another helpful hand was holding 3 to a royal and hitting on lines 45 & 86. Dee followed up with holding 3 to a royal as well and she scored our 4th royal of the day and the trip on line 51.

It got tough after those hits and a lot of the profits were gone, but not all of them. Dee fought back hard and slowly grew her meter back up. I cashed out my large ticket and put in a fresh $100 bill and that was all I would need to go through the rest of the session. Dee went on a quad frenzy and grew her meter back up into big profits. We ran over 25k through the machines and wound up with an $800 win, pretty much all of our royal money was still in tact. The killer for the session was a real lack of dealt winners. Three of a kinds were sparse but other than 3 straights, 1 flush and 2 full houses, were were left to struggle.

For Dee's free play we chose $1 bonus poker. The plan was to run it through and cash out hoping for a quad. Nothing better than 1 straight and one set of trips came up and she turned $250 free play into $180.

We left the Silverton and went to Henderson to get our laundry followed by a stop at Jack in the Box for a quick Taco snack (2 were free from answering the survey we got last time).

From here it was back to the Gold Coast with a small stop on the way. Apparently when I made the left from Boulder Highway onto Flamingo, I sort of blew the red light, not realizing there was a cop behind me. Oops! He was cool and let me go and told me to be careful.

We got back to the Gold Coast and took a break for a bit, and then had a mini session in the casino. I wanted to run 300 points quickly before dinner so I could get my gift of a neck pillow. It's crap but I wanted one!

For dinner we had 8pm reservations at the Cortez Room here at the Gold Coast. This is their steakhouse/higher end place. We're on a comp here through my host. We started off by splitting the Lettuce Chicken Wraps appetizer. I ordered the 8oz filet and Dee ordered the seafood Olympia. The meals came with soup. I got the loaded potato, very very good and Dee had salad. For dessert Dee got the chocolate cake and ice cream (which wasn't on the plate), and I tried the peach Melba.

Even though we were stuffed, we tried one more session of video poker with no luck at all. We cut it short just so we could protect the gains we made today.

Total win/loss for the day $800
Total Comps for the day $413
Total number of eff bombs for the day = 19
