Day 13
Thursday October 3, 2013
Up early today for a breakfast meet with our friend Carol. We didn't get to see her last trip so it'll be a good chance to catch up with her. She had to work last night and is actually meeting us after work. We decided to eat at Java Vegas and had our normal selections of fruit and pastries. We had a good time catching up and it was good to see her.

We hit the machines after we ate. Dee did well hovering as always and scoring a set of aces. Me on the other hand bled to death yet again dropping 3 bills.

Since we were up early and stayed out late last night, I needed a break so we came up to the room. I napped for a bit while Dee read and surfed the net.

It was back to the casino after the break. The first stop was to Tournament Alley to play in the free weekly video poker tournament. I drew machine #1 and finished the 15 minutes session with just over 1500 points with only 1 quad. I don't think this is a great score but I'll check the scoreboard tomorrow to see if I were in the top 35. A few years ago I scored high enough to win $50 in free play.

From the tournament it was back to the machines. It was more of the same as the earlier session with me getting killed and Dee hovering and only losing a little bit. At this point in the day we've now dropped almost everything we won yesterday and hardly gotten any play.

Next up it was to the room to get ready for the evening. The plan was to go to this place called the 4 Kegs on Jones and the 95. It was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and their signature dish is the Stromboli. We were also meeting friends Norm and Andrea here and when we arrived I was surprised to hear from Norm that Yahtzee Mike was going to be there as well. We didn't know Mike was in town as his schedule was hectic this week but he was able to squeeze in a quick visit. To sum everything up I can say this place definitely fits the “dive” section of the show. We ordered the Signature Stromboli that has ham, salami, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese in it. It was good but nothing spectacular. I wouldn't make another trip here but only because of the location, and type of place this is (neighborhood bar). The prices are reasonable and the food decent so if you're in the area, give them a shot.

We all parted ways and Mike met us back here at the Gold Coast for some video poker action. We settled at some single line machines and I played deuces and then tried some double-double bonus hoping for a quad. I had no luck with my best hit being a natural straight flush on deuces wild. Dee played Jacks or Better and of course, hit aces eventually busting out her credit meter too. Mike left and we moved to some different machines. We took a shot at some 50 cent multi line again with no luck. I finally scored my first quad of the night but it wasn't enough to ride out the losing hands. For a final shot Dee suggested we try some $1 DDB. I thought about it and figured we were down so hard already what was another bill. It was more of the same with no quads, and only a few hands better than trips.

The last thing we did for the night was turn in a coupon from the Las Vegas Advisor for play $10 get $10 in free play. We took this to a penny Gold Fish machine and promptly lost it too putting a typical end to yet another disaster of a day.

When we got back to the room we packed up some of our stuff again because we are moving tomorrow. Once this was done we hit the bed for some much needed sleep!

Total win/loss for the day - $1400
Total Comps for the day $88
Total number of eff bombs for the day = 28
