Day 14
Friday October 4, 2013
To start the day I ran downstairs to see where I scored in yesterday's tournament. I didn't make the money with my 1575 because you needed 2300 to hit the money.

While I was down there I checked with a host to see about getting some of the additional room charges comped with good results. The host I dealt with wasn't mine because he was off today. This one was a bit off. I told her my room came with $50 a day free food for the first two nights and as always the second day's food was still showing on my folio. Then she asks “Did you eat in any of our restaurants and charge it to your room?”. No stupid, I starved for the last 4 days and magically there were restaurant charges showing on my account. I explained to her that I did and again told her that the charges for the first 2 days shouldn't even be there because of my offer and she again asked if I ate at any of the restaurants and charged it to my room. Really? Really? REALLY? She called the front desk, got them to make the adjustment of which he took $34 off. WTF? $50 food credit is $34 taken off the bill? It didn't matter as she comped the rest of it anyway but how does that math work out?

When we were done we got ready and finished up packing our bags for today's move. We grabbed our things and headed out of the Gold Coast en route to our next adventure. First was another stop at the bank, which really sucked but I don't want to get caught short on cash for the weekend.

Next up was a trip to Boulder City to a place called the Coffee Cup. They were also featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. The dish they had featured on the show was pork chili verde omelet. That is what Dee got and I tried the hot meatloaf sandwich. The food was good, the service friendly and the prices were fair. I would go back here again in the future if we are in the area.

Next up was a trip back down to Las Vegas to check into the next hotel. Today's move is the final move of the trip and is to Sam's Town. I booked this with a mail offer that offered up to 5 nights (we'll be here for 4), a gold card for meals and drinks at all of the Sam's Town owned restaurants and bars, and $100 in free play. I also contacted my host based on a mailer I got for a drawing for a Fiat 500 POP which he entered me into. After the ass kicking so far this trip, it will be cool to win this car on Saturday night! I had also worked out with my host to get a handicap accessible suite and he came through for me. This was a surprise for Dee and she has no idea that I booked this.

We were arrived there was no wait at check in (strange for a Friday afternoon) we were given room 258. This room has a wet bar area with fridge when you walk in. The living room has a sectional sofa, dining table, work desk and a 55 or 60 inch flat screen TV.

The bedroom area is small with a king bed with nightstands on each side and a 32 inch TV. There's a special whirlpool tub designed for handicap people with a door to enter through. There's also a retractable shower head in there.

The bathroom has a roll in shower, long vanity counter and security bars.

There isn't much of a view as this room is on the second floor right behind the waterfall but that's ok because I'd rather have the suite instead of the view since we've been here so many times.

We got settled into the room and partially packed for the return home in a few days and took a break in the room until about 6:30.

For dinner we plans to go to Willy & Jose's with friends Anne and family and another friend Stacy. Dee had a burrito and I had 3 taco platter. The food was standard here tonight as it doesn't change much.

We finished dinner and hung out with everyone for a while before they went home. We hit the video poker machines. We started with an 8/5 bonus progressive for quarters. As holds true I blew through $100 in no time hitting just 1 quad. Dee hovered and I watched expecting her to bust out. 20 minutes later she was back in it all without hitting a quad. I bought in again, once again losing 50 bucks in about 5 minutes. Dee finally busted out as well and we wrapped it up for the day. It was yet another loss in the record books and between us, we ran 3k through, lost $250 and hit only 1 quad. I would say this will turn around but we're running out of time.

Total win/loss for the day - $250
Total Comps for the day $242
Total number of eff bombs for the day = 4 (Really? That's all?)
