Day 15
Saturday October 5, 2013
We slept in today getting caught upon some rest and then started off with lunch. I went to the deli and grabbed a cold cut combo for Dee and a grilled cheese for me. I got chips and she got onion rings. I also grabbed some cake for later in the day and brought everything up to the room.

Dee wasn't feeling great and just wanted to rest for the day so I went out to the Pinball Hall of Fame. Before I went out I stopped at the slot club to get some information about the drawing for the car, only to find out it happened 5 minutes ago. I was quite pissed. The girl at the counter asked me, “Didn't you get any information at check in?”. Yes, stupid, I got all of the information when I checked in, that's why I'm here asking you for information about it. I am not happy I missed the drawing and that I never got any information about it. I'm also surprised that they'd do a drawing for a car at noon.

Fuming I headed for the Pinball Hall of Fame and played a bunch of games. Like the other day I got hours of fun for just 5 bucks. When I got back Dee still wasn't feeling great so I hit the casino. I took a shot at some $1 bonus poker and on one of the first few hands popped a set of aces. Things were good for a while getting the meter up to almost $700 with some full houses and straights but then it got tough so I cashed out with the aces money.

Next I tried the Let's Make a Deal slots for some fun. These are ok, nothing great and I was only able to hit one bonus round, where I picked 2 zonks out of 3 picks. I was not amused by this!

I went tot he blackjack tables after this and bought in on a double deck game. Things were choppy here and then would get good. I just couldn't seem to win my double down hands, I was losing 3 of them for every one that I'd win. I'd also lose when I started to fire up my bets. One key turning point was when I was able to press my bets up to $100 and got a double down on one of my hands (I was playing 2 hands). The dealer pulled a 20 and wiped me out of 3 bills on one hand. I built back up and it happened again later on. I quit with a $10 profit which I split with the dealers.

I made a quick stop at the deli and got Dee a bowl of soup. I didn't know if she was up yet and figured if she didn't want it I'd eat it. She was happy to have it and said she was feeling better and was going to get ready for the evening in the casino and some video poker action.

Before the VP action though we hit the buffet for a little more to eat then soup. I hadn't eaten anything sine this morning and was starving. Dee was still hungry after the soup too. I still say this is the worst buffet in the entire Boyd Gaming network. Take for example that it's so bad, in the Chinese section, the orange chicken is actually the same chicken nuggets that are served on the main section of the buffet with an orange glaze on them. Tonight was also steak night, and oddly the steaks even though pre-cooked and dumped into pans, were very good.

We were now fed and it was time for video poker. Since our action had been light up to this point I thought we'd try to triple play progressives. I'm not thrilled with the pay tables over here but they have progressives for the dealt royal as well as for each line. Last month a friend of ours hit a single royal for of 4 large on this bank and almost 2 large the next day. The jackpots weren't as high today but at this point ANY jackpot would be welcomed. Jackpots here were high with two at $1500 and one near 2k. The dealt was approaching 10k. Too bad my luck was so bad I burned through $600 in one hour. Yes, that says $600 in one hour only hitting 4 quads. Granted, I did switch over to double-double for 2 bills but still, to lose $600 in one hour is effing insane and I have played dollar games before and not lost that much that fast. Dee was doing a little better hovering for a while. Just as she was about to bust out, on what was going to be her last hand she got dealt quad queens and walked away even. THAT is more like how it should be in an hour, not the bullshit I went through.

Since I was losing so fast I figured if I'm going to lose that much, that fast, I might as well play higher limits, I'd at the very least have a shot at a bigger prize should a bit of luck arrive. We hit some $1 bonus poker machines, we actually got to play for about an hour but again lost $600 between us and hit no quads. In quarter terms that's the equivalent of losing $150 without a quad.

After this we came up to the room and went to bed, wondering if and when things will ever change this trip. They need to change fast and be really good as this trip is coming to a close in just 2 more days.

Total win/loss for the day - $750
Total Comps for the day $236
Total number of eff bombs for the day = 32
