Day 17
Monday October 7, 2013
We got a late start today but we needed the rest because we were up late last night. Today is our final day in town so we had breakfast at the buffet. Nothing fancy here except the orange chicken was actually made with real chicken today and not nuggets.

Next up was some more video poker action. We chose the progressives this time. I popped a set of aces and fours right away but that was about all. I plugged away losing most of that and then hit a few more quads. At one count I was at 5 quads, and showing a $3.75 profit. I looked at Dee's meter, who hadn't hit a quad and she was showing a $20 profit. Perhaps that will tell you how this trip has been. Things got a little better for me and Dee started hitting quads too. We cashed this session out with a $100 win and came up here for a break.

After the break we hit the progressives upstairs and played jacks or better. I hit quad 8's twice in 10 hands and that kept me going for most of the session. I was about to quit even and then hit 3 full houses out of 4 hands (2 dealt) and then quad 10's. Dee hovered the good part of the session but she busted out and I quit with a small profit.

We had our final dinner for the trip at the deli. Dee ordered the special that was bologna, cold or fried. She ordered it fried and I ordered chicken fingers and fries. My fingers were good and her sandwich was good except it wasn't fried, they made it cold. How difficult is it to fry the bologna when that's what the customer ordered?

When we were done eating we hit the machines again. This time for halves. I popped quad 4's right away and soon after Dee hit aces. That was all she would need for the rest of the session. She played and played and played using her hover power and landing enough other quads to keep going. I was up and down and between quads was losing quite a bit. I hit the pocket a few times but the saving hand was switching to my Hail Mary on double-double and scoring quad fours again. After a 3 hour session we cashed out even between us in one of the best sessions of the trip.

It was time for some serious video poker action and we took a stab a some dollars. Nothing good happened here and we didn't get much action and lost $100 each.

We went back to the quarter progressives for another session. We played for about an hour and cashed out even hitting a few quads to keep alive and getting an inordinate amount of full houses and flushes.

We went to the deli after this for a late night meal. I got the graveyard steak and eggs. This is a small NY strip with 2 eggs, sliced breakfast potatoes, and toast for $6.99. Dee got the late night 2-2-2 special for $2.99 of 2 eggs, toast and breakfast potatoes. The food was good but the service a bit slow tonight, but there was no hurry.

We came back up here to the room to stat packing up our things for tomorrow. This always sucks but what can you do?
