Day 18

We were up early today to finish packing up and get ready for the trip back home. We had a quick bite to eat in the room and then I went to the deli to get some sandwiches for the flight home. I got turkey and Dee got a cold cut combo.

With everything packed up and a bag full of food it was time to head out to the airport. The only stop I had to make was to gas up the car before returning it to Alamo.

The plan was to park in short term parking, drop Dee off at the airport and check in for the flight. I was then going to return the car and then come back on the rental car shuttle. We chose to do this so that Dee wouldn't have to endure the hassles of getting on and off of the shuttle with the wheel chair.

I returned the car with no problems, hopped on the shuttle and met Dee back at the airport just like we planned. From here it was off to security. Things were great here, they took care of her and did their job quickly. She was cleared and we made our way to the gate.

We boarded again in the pre-boarding period and took the front seats. These seats are nice with the extra leg room but not having a tray table is a bit of a pain

This is Southwest flight 3067 non stop from Las Vegas into Albany. We were scheduled to fly for 4 hours and 40 minutes. The captain came on and told us we'd actually be flying for 4 hours and 20 minutes and we would have a high tail wind. I booked these tickets back in June during Southwest's anniversary sale for $178 each. I used points to pay for both tickets and only had to pay $5 in government taxes.

The flight was very smooth with the seat belt sign off for most of the flight. I slept for a portion of the flight and Dee was out for almost the whole thing. We landed in Albany 20 minutes earlier than even the captain anticipated.

When we got to baggage claim and retrieved the suitcase and went to the taxi line. We got a car and we were off to the La Quinta to pick up the car. The driver had his head up his ass and almost blew by the place.

We hopped in and took the 90 mile drive home with a quick stop for a bite to eat at McDonald's on Wolf Road. Just a few McDoubles, fries and milkshakes for the drive. The only problem was they didn't have any milkshakes or ice cream. WTF is wrong with McDonald's these days. Here it was only 9:15pm, and they already had shut down the machine for cleaning. Every effing time we go to McDonald's for shakes or ice cream, this happens.

We pulled into the driveway at about 11:30pm and another trip was now over.

Final Thoughts

• We feel right at home at Main Street Station and the California
• We love Southwest Airlines especially after using United last trip
• Gallagher was a fun act to see especially for just a $10 service charge
• Scratch Cards at Main Street Station really do add up if you play a lot but are getting to be more and more of a hassle
• This was the first trip ever that we didn't hit a royal at the Aquarius
• 100 play video poker is fun
• Thankfully we hit a few big hands along the way to keep thing from being totally awful
• As always I didn't do well in my tournaments
• The Pinball Hall of Fame continues to be a favorite bankroll saver
• We got 70 scratch cards at Main Street Station (62 @ $2, 8 @ $3 and 0 @ $5)
• We played nearly 250,000 hands of video poker
• We hit 5 royals between us (1 @ 25¢ and 4 @ 5¢) Dee with 2 (including the one quarter royal) and me with 3
• The weather was hit and miss with some days in the 90's and others only in the high 60's
• This loss brings my Las Vegas record to 26 – 20 – 1
• The next trip will be the Summer 2014 trip starting in mid – late June 2014

• Eff you to the loud mouth on the flight to Las Vegas that didn't shut up for 5 straight hours
• Eff you to the Market Street Cafe for eliminating spaghetti and meat sauce from the menu
• Eff you to our server at the Market Street Cafe for dinner on 09-24-13 for being a tool
• Eff you to flush 4, straight 4, and finishing with 4 to a royal repeatedly

• Eff you to Sam's Town for not giving me info about the car drawing and missing it

• Eff you to service employees that would rather eff around than serve customers

• Eff you to Main Street Station for the way they handle scratch card redemption
• Eff you to people that can't put their cell phones down for 10 minutes to conduct business
• Eff you to people the try to pile into the elevator before we get out
• Eff you to to people that feel the need to run in front of a moving wheel instead of waiting 3 seconds for us to pass
• Eff you to royal droughts
