Day 4
Saturday June 14, 2014
This morning we started off with breakfast over at the Market Street Cafe. This place was packed and the line was long to get in but an emerald card buzzed us right past all of those waiting. Dee got the 2's company with 2 bacon, 2 eggs, and 2 pancakes. I got 2 eggs, sausage, rye toast and rice. Despite it being really busy in there the food came out fast and was good like it always is here.

It was time for some video poker action after breakfast and we hit the triple/five/ten plays again. Dee started with triple and I started with five. Dee hit quad deuces just a few hands in and never looked back. I struggled to hit anything but did land a few quads to keep going before the bleed started. I was in for $300 and lost again. I decided to try one more bill and switched to 10-play. Things were better here and I hit a set of aces and various other quads. I was hovering and on a 3 card hold scored my second royal in 3 days on line 7. Dee was popping quads one after another and switched to 10-play too. She got good play time in with even more quads cashing out her session with a $200 win with us leaving the machines for a break with over $900 victory along with 22 scratch cards worth $45.

On the way back to the room we popped a $20 bill into a penny slot with no luck at all and then it was time for a break.

After a much needed rest it was back to video poker again we hit The D casino. I haven't had any play here since 1997 so I wasn't in their system and signed up for a new card. I also turned in a coupon from the American Casino Guide that offered $5 free play for every 50 points ($500 coin in on video poker). The second goal here was to try and get onto their mailing list. I've had reports that they have a decent mailer program and wanted to get in on it. I got a couple of cards and we were off to the video poker machines. We found some 8/5 bonus machines and right off the bat Dee hit aces. I was getting low paired to death from the beginning and losing faster at single line quarters than I had playing 5 & 10 play earlier today. I took a hail Mary attempt switching not only machines but to halves and scored a quad. I came back to my original machine and went back to bonus and scored a bonus quad. This got me back into it and things finally leveled off for me but Dee went on a downward spiral. We switched to halves and more of the same happened. By the time we were done we'd played 6k but lost over $300.

After playing we went over to the D Showroom. I scored free tickets ($9 service charge) to see the Scintas through Goldstar. Dee saw them many years ago but I have never seen them. I picked up the tickets at the box office and then we got in line in. While waiting I ran down to McDonald's and grabbed 2 apple pies for $1 to hold us over. This room is small and is “host escorted seating”. I guess maitre D is an outdated term?

This is a variety show with everything from singing to jokes. I thought the show was great and the price was right. I would see it again if I could score free tickets!

We left the D and made our way through the free concert disaster that was Fremont Street. We went to the California Snack bar for something to eat. We both got Saimen and an Passion Orange Drink that contains a whopping 2% fruit juice.

Dee was tired so we came up and she went to bed. I went back to the casino and in 30 minutes playing triple, five and ten play dropped over $400 and hit zero quads and only got 2k in action. I was not pleased that at this point most (but not all) of the royal money from this morning was gone.

It was after midnight now so I am going to bed!

Total win/loss for the day $200
Total Comps for the day $200
