Day 6
Monday June 16, 2014
Today is moving day but with most of our things already moved, this will be one of the easier check outs we've ever had. I threw our stuff in the car and then we went over to the Cal.

For breakfast we had one last meal at the Cal Cafe on my silver card. I got the French Dip and Dee got a veggie omelet. Everything was good but when I tried to pay with my silver card it wouldn't go through. Housekeeping must have marked the room vacant and had us checked out. It was fixed quick and we were on our way.

We left the Cal and went over to the Four Queens where we'd be playing for a good part of the day. Since this room was booked on Dee's offer we'll be playing on her card today. We hit the 9/6 jacks or better machines and as always I told Dee not to hit quad aces! We started off playing for halves and decided to switch to quarters if we were getting beat up too much. I'm happy to say the Dee as usual was the hover queen and played and played and played without needing to reload the machine. I was doing a little worse and I was the one that hit aces. By the end of the session we'd run about half the action we wanted with Dee winning $150 and me losing $150!

We went up to our room and took a break for a while and watched some TV before heading back to the casino. This time was the same just backwards. Dee was getting beat and I was hovering. My biggest issues today were getting low paired to death and going 10+ hands with no winners. We finally got our action for the day run through and we were down about $300.

We went to Magnolia's for dinner. The food is usually pretty good here. With exception of a meal a few years ago it's always been consistent. Today an exception. Dee got the lasagna and I got the special country fried steak. Dee's meal along with her soup was good. My soup was good but that's where it ended. The steak had no flavor and the country gravy on it was like rubber. The beans were canned but the mashed potatoes were good.

After dinner we ran Dee's play through some penny slots. Thanks to a 6000 coin hit we turned the $200 free play into $170. This eased some of the losses from earlier.

We had finally hit our play goal for the day and went to the slot club so Dee could turn in the 2X points (up to 500) coupon from the American Casino Guide. We'll be returning tomorrow to do it all over again on my card!

We walked back over to Main Street Station to fetch the car and head over to the Rio.

Since I was already checked in we just ran to the room to drop off the rest of our things and then hit the casino. The VP here isn't good but we play very little here compared to everywhere else. Dee sat at a 7/5 bonus triple play. I chose single line dollars. Dee was hovering as always. I was struggling with almost no hits. In fact the paytable didn't mean shit because I didn't hit a flush or full house. I moved to five play and just couldn't hit a thing. Again, the pay table was almost meaningless here too as in just 2k in action I hit exactly 8 full houses. I got no dealt winners better than 3 of a kind and those were rare. I was only able to snag 2 quads during the whole session. I also popped the dreaded straight flush to the king. I dropped about 8 bills during this short session and Dee lost only $100 in the worst session of the trip so far.

Total win/loss for the day - $900
Total Comps for the day $604
