Day 10
Friday June 20, 2014
Happy Anniversary to ME! (oh yeah, and Dee too)
Today was moving day so we started off by packing up our things and getting ready to leave.

Today's move is far, far away. We might even have to pack a survival kit for the drive as we leave the Rio and head to the Gold Coast. This room was initially booked through a mail offer of 2 nights, $50 per day free play and $50 per day in food. I had my host here add 2 additional nights and then a few weeks later as the trip planning was coming together I had him add a 5th night. He's comped all of these extra nights upfront and the additional food will be charged to the room and evaluated at check out. I normally don't like to do this with my food but if for some chance he doesn't comp it, I've got a ton of points in my account to cover the balance. With that said, I've never gotten stuck with the bill here either so I'm not worried.

Checking in was quick and easy as it usually is here. The room wasn't ready when we arrived and the agent said it would be ready in an hour.

To kill the time we hit the video poker machines. I played five play again and Dee switched between five and triple. Dee initially lost but hit aces on the second bill and I hit a straight flush and various other quads including aces and dealt winners. After the hour was over we were up a whopping dollar twenty five!

We went back to the front desk to get our keys and in just a few minutes we were off to room 633. This is a deluxe handicap room with 2 queen beds, a nightstand, dresser, work desk, and 32 inch flat screen TV. There is a view of the Palms across the street. The bathroom is large and handicap equipped with a roll in shower and safety bars and the famous Coast casinos shower window. The only problem with this room is we booked a premium. The only real difference on the rooms I the bathroom is nicer in the premium rooms.

We got our stuff into the room and hit the pool for some swimming and relaxing. We didn't stay too long so we wouldn't get baked.

We came back to the room and get cleaned up and ready for our evening. For dinner my host made us a reservation for the Cortez room, the higher end restaurant here at the Gold Coast. Since it was our anniversary we wanted to have a dinner some place nice. We had a meal here on our last trip and enjoyed it so decided to do it again.

For appetizer we started off with the lettuce chicken wraps. I also ordered prime rib and that came with steak and potato soup and a baked potato. for my entree and Dee went with the Penne with salmon for her meal and a salad. The food was really good but there was a lot of it. Of course there is always room for dessert so Dee got the carrot cake and I got the peach Melba!

After over indulging for dinner it was back to the machines and more video poker. I activated my free play for the day at the slot club that we'd run through the machines later tonight and then it was time to hit the video poker machines. We both played five play this time. Things were good tonight with us both hitting a good number of quads to start off. Dee hit a straight flush then I got dealt quad sixes. Dee started losing and switched to triple play but immediately got dealt a quad. I was up and down but continued to hit quads including a set of aces. We continued to play a little longer with Dee hovering and me getting my ass handed to me. We decided to cash out with a $300 win.

We decided to run my free play through a penny slot. Like we've been doing in the last few trips, we save the free play for the end of the day and run it through just once and take whatever is left. Tonight I was able to turn my $50 into $54 thanks to a 2000 coin hit and then we called it a night.

Total win/loss for the day $350
Total Comps for the day $262
