Day 18
Saturday June 28, 2014
We were up early today and got ready for the day and packed up the rest of our stuff. We had to check out early and get going because the cousins arrive today. Their flight comes in from Toronto at 10:36am.

We headed out of the Silverton and it was off to McCarran to meet them when they arrived. Everything went well here with them arriving right on time. We grabbed their luggage and were off to the car.

Next up it was time for lunch. We decided to go to a place in Boulder City called the Coffee Cup. We went here last fall based on seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and thought it was pretty good. Dee had the Banana waffle and deep fried pickles (I know, what a mix) and I had the meatloaf with the cousins having breakfast tacos a chicken sandwich and a bowl of the chili verde that was featured on Triple D.

Once we were filled up we headed out of Boulder City and into Laughlin. We pulled into the Aquarius at about 2:30 and while waiting at the light to turn into the parking lot we noticed on the marquee that it said "Happy Anniversary Jim and Dee". Now I don't go by Jim, ever, but this was kind of neat. But was it really for us? We parked the car headed for the VIP check in.

I booked this stay with 2 rooms for 5 nights through my host with all nights comped. Me and Dee also have mail offers with her getting $150 in free play and me getting $475 in free play. Dee also got $50 for her birthday and we got $100 for our anniversary for a total of $775.

Checking in at the VIP room was quick. In just a few minutes we were off to rooms 18104 and 18106. Dee and I will be staying in room 18104 which is a handicap room with 2 beds, a nightstand, dresser, dining table, 32 inch flat screen and a view of the pool and river. The bathroom is a little larger than the regular rooms with safety bars in the shower and around the toilet. The adjoining room next door has a king bed and is identical other than that.

We got settled into the room and then it was off to the casino. We chose five play today and it wasn't pretty. We were feeding in bill after bill. I was going way too many hands with no pay outs at all. I also couldn't hit a quad when holding trips. The only exception was on one of my hail Mary attempts when I was dealt trip fours and landed the 4th with a deuce for the $200 pay. Dee was getting beat up so bad she switched to triple play where she had more bad luck. By the end of the session we were down 7 bills and didn't get that much play. Hopefully later will be better!

For dinner we went to Cafe Aquarius. Dee had the Signature Wrap and I had the Prime Rib Sliders. The service was slow tonight because this place was packed. The food was decent though.

After dinner I had $625 in free play to run through the machines. We chose to run it through the $1 video poker. Things were rough at first as $100 of it was gone with only $160 in action. Things got a little better when I hit quad nines and a few straights. The excitement happened when I was dealt a flush but with four to a royal. I dropped the odd card and scored another flush! When we were done running the free play through it was $590 so not a terrible end result and it saved the day from being a total loss.

Total win/loss for the day - $100
Total Comps for the day $811
